HCS PiE E-Newsletter
September 2026
Welcome back and Happy Fall!🍂
I'm not sure many of us are surprised, but the first month of the school year has FLOWN by. Here we are, all settling into a gorgeous fall with a solid lineup of PiE events and fundraisers coming up that we want you to know about.
Some of you have been following along with PiE for years while others may be brand new to the HCS Community. While PiE strives to send out monthly updates to keep everyone informed about community events, fundraisers, volunteer opportunities and other ways to support HCS students, teachers and staff...sometimes it's more of a bi-monthly communication:) Either way, thanks for taking the time to read. If you ever have any questions or want to get more involved, go ahead and send us an email hcspie@cvsdvt.org (you can also keep reading all the way to the bottom for a quick recap of what PiE is all about)
Our first PiE General Meeting of this year is coming up THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15th at 6:00pm. We hope you can join us; there will be childcare available and pizza!
See you soon!

Bring your energy, ideas, and community spirit or just a listening ear—we hope to see you there. *We will have warm pizza and HCS 8th graders offering some babysitting during the meeting- feel free to RSVP if bringing children so we can plan accordingly*
RSVPs are enabled for this event.
Coming up...PiE FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT
Pre-K–4 students and their families/caregivers can join us for a free family movie night event in NOVEMBER, which will be held in the HCS Flex Space from 6-8pm. Concessions are available by donation, and the kids have a blast. Keep an eye out for more details!
If you're interested in helping with Movie Nights (set up, concessions, post-movie cleanup), please send an email to hcspie@cvsdvt.org
2026-27 PiE Grant Program
Each fall PiE conducts a grant application/review process to award funding for special projects at HCS. If you have any questions, please direct them to HCSPIEgrants@gmail.com
More details about the guidelines and a grant application link will be available soon!
The annual Meadow Farms Fundraiser is one of the biggest for PiE, bringing in around $5,000 for HCS the past couple of years. Keep an eye out for the link next month!

A little background for those families new to HCS...
PiE's four main areas of focus are: Student Enrichment, Community building, Family Support and Staff Appreciation. Throughout each school year, a main goal of PiE is to raise funds on behalf of Hinesburg Community School in an effort to support and enhance our student's educational experience. For example, in past years, a large portion of the PiE's annual donation made in the fall has covered the costs of field trips for ALL of our K-8 HCS students. PiE also conducts a grant program each year to assist with funding special projects that benefit our students and staff.
In addition to the e-newsletter, you can follow HCS PiE on both Facebook (HCS PiE) and Instagram (@hcspie) to stay up to date on events, upcoming meetings and ways to volunteer.
**If you're unable to volunteer for events or participate in fundraisers, please know that direct tax-deductible donations are welcome anytime. Direct donations will support PiE budget items, such as costs related to teacher appreciation week, refreshments for PiE Community events & fundraisers etc.**
