Shark Scoop
August 2026
Principal, Ms. Jonas
It is with great enthusiasm that I can continue to be part of the Amazing Shark Team for the 2026-2027 school year. I am proud of ALL the hard work, dedication and effort that all of you and your students put into the 2025-2026 school year and am happy to announce that we continue to be an A rated school! This is a victorious achievement that shows how true effort, even during the most ever-changing times, brings out the best in all of us. This year’s theme, “NPE: Get Ready, Get Set…Grow,” will give us the opportunity to focus on school-wide and individual goals and work together as a team. “Shift into high gear and get ready to accelerate your learning.”
We have goals we strive to achieve. “Fuel your mind, race to the finish line!” Mrs. Kovis and I look forward to seeing all our determined staff and students on campus in the next few weeks. Our shark students are going to have an incredible year where they are driven and ready to succeed. Our students will reach greater goals, joys, and accomplishments. “Buckle up, it’s going to be a great year of learning!”
Sincerely,
Stephanie Jonas

Welcome Back, Sharks! 🦈
We hope you had a wonderful summer and are excited for another amazing year at Naples Park Elementary!
As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we look forward to continuing the strong partnerships that make our school community so special.
At Naples Park, our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to providing engaging learning experiences, maintaining high expectations, and supporting every student's academic, social, and emotional growth. Together, we will continue to build on our successes and create opportunities for all students to thrive.
Positive Behavior Supports at Naples Park
At NPE, we believe that positive school culture and student success go hand in hand. Our school-wide expectations are rooted in PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), which helps create a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for everyone.
Our SHARK Expectations
Students are expected to be:
🦈 Kind
🦈 Respectful
🦈 Responsible
🦈 Ready to Learn
These expectations are taught, modeled, and reinforced throughout the school year in classrooms and during school-wide PBIS activities and assemblies.
Recognizing Positive Behavior
Students who demonstrate our SHARK expectations may earn:
- FINtastics to spend at the classroom or school store
- Classroom Shark Prides
- Positive Referrals
- Shark Leader of the Month recognition
Student Conduct
When behaviors do not meet school expectations, consequences are assigned based on the nature and severity of the behavior in accordance with the CCPS Code of Student Conduct.
We encourage families to review our SHARK expectations with their children and partner with us in supporting positive behavior and student success.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
We are looking forward to a fantastic 2026–2027 school year filled with learning, growth, and celebration.
Sincerely,
Krystal Kovis

Counselor's Corner
Hello from the Counselor's Corner!
August Focus: Routines • Confidence • Classroom Community
August is all about helping our Sharks build strong habits, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Establishing routines early helps students feel secure, ready to learn, and connected to our school community.
Leadership Highlight: Welcoming new students and learning school expectations. Our Sharks can be leaders by including others, modeling positive behavior, and making responsible choices each day.
This Month We're Practicing:
- ✅ Daily routines and classroom expectations
- ✅ Building confidence by trying new things and asking questions
- ✅ Creating a positive classroom community through kindness and friendship
Parent Tip: Practice a consistent morning routine and check in with your child about how they're feeling each day. A strong start in the morning supports success throughout the day.
Why It Matters: Students who feel connected, confident, and supported are more likely to participate, take risks, and thrive. Our Sharks are already off to a fintastic start!
