Weekly Update March 26, 2026

From the Principal From the Principal

It's finally here! Spring Break is upon us at the end of the day Friday. Hopefully the weather will stay nice during the break so we can all get some fresh air!

There is still time to do the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge. Our 5-8th graders will be learning hands only CPR today and tomorrow. If you have never learned CPR, this is a fast and easy way to help in an emergency. It is vitally important to keep blood flowing during a cardiac event, and the compressions do just that.

Coming up in April we have several things. First, we will be doing our ARK Religion testing. This will help us measure students in their knowledge of religion and give us some feedback on areas of focus. Secondly, we will be participating in Movers for Moms with Two Men and A Truck. This will be for all of April. Collection boxes will be at both entrances to the school for donations. See more information below. Last year we were very successful with all the donations staying right in Freeport.

I am sorry to say that I do not yet have an update from the Diocese about next year. I will send information as soon as I am able.

I will also send the April lunch menu as soon as we have it. It will also get posted to the calendar on our website when we receive it.

I pray that all of you have a safe Spring Break, a blessed holy week and Easter! See you on Tuesday, April 7th.

Mrs. Heitkamp

Movers for Moms Movers for Moms

We are once again partnering with Two Men and a Truck for Movers for Moms. This year the recipients of the donations are the Madonna Renewal Center (blue nuns) and the Salvation Army of Freeport. Both worthy causes. I am attaching their wish lists so that you can participate as much as you are able.

The Salvation Army is looking for non-perishable food items. These are similar to the food collection that we did earlier in the year. Any and all donations are appreciated.

The Madonna Renewal Center list includes clothing items and such that can be gently used and in good condition. So, during Spring Break you may want to go through the closets and find things that you no longer need and donate them! Spring cleaning and a donation to a good cause are a great way to begin Spring!

The collection will run during the entire month of April. We appreciate your generosity!
