Forest families,

Specials Night got March off to a great start. Student artwork was on display, kids sang karaoke in the music room, family bowling took place in the gym and Mrs. Gajewski had students creating a STEM project in the STEAM room. It was a great event enjoyed by all.

Mrs. Grunwald and the fourth graders ran The Lemonade War, which raised over $1800. Mrs. Ng and our Forest families raised $2,000 for the Kids' Heart Challenge. We had an exciting March is Reading month, with a theme for each day.

Bingo for Books was held the evening of March 14th, thanks to Mrs. Dyorich and Ms. Brandy that volunteered to assist. Our teachers, along with the help of our family volunteers, had St. Patrick's Day festivities in each classroom. We had a great Hall of Fame event at Arnaldo's. March was a great month!

Please use the crosswalk in the morning! I have quite a few families that continue to cross at the far sidewalk, which causes me to have to stop traffic. This creates extra time for the cars coming in and it is not safe. YOU MUST CROSS YOUR CHILD AT THE CROSSWALK ONLY! This crosswalk is right in front of the main office doors and has the white lines that signify this. Thank you to all of the families that do use the crosswalk. It is MUCH appreciated!

Also, please do not stop at the far sidewalk to drop your child off. This bottlenecks our parking lot, and causes an extra long line down the street. Please pull up to the first STOP sign that we put out each morning which is in front of the STEAM room doors.

If you have any questions or concerns, call the office at (734) 479-2550. You can also email myself (gmeli@riverviewschools.com) or Ms. Annie (aprusakiewicz@riverviewschools.com).

Lemonade Wars Lemonade Wars

Lemonade Wars

On Tuesday, March 12th the war was on. Fourth grade students, under the guidance of Mrs. Grunwald were prepared for lemonade sales. Groups worked for days creating their business plan, developing a theme, advertising and getting their add on items for sale. After the plan was created each team made their sales pitch to selected classes. Forest students were able to preorder lemonade ahead of time or purchase lemonade the day of from individual stands. The lemonade war generated $1,800 in profit and the proceeds will be donated to Alex's Lemonade Stand and #HarperStrong. It was a beautiful day, everyone had a great time and we thank everyone for the support!

Courtesy Clothes Closet

Are your child's clothing drawers overflowing? Does your child have clothing that does not fit any longer? We are looking for gently used items for our Courtesy Closet. Items would be available for students that need spare clothes during the school day. For those spills during lunch, in STEAM or for when students accidently fall into puddles or mud outside. Items for children in grades K-2 are in high demand. Stretch pants, running pants and leggings are most desirable. Please drop off donations to the office. Thank you so much!
