β PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE β
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 2! We are looking forward to another fantastic term of learning, growth, and community events.
Keeping Warm in School Uniforms
As the cooler weather sets in, please ensure your child is coming to school with warm jackets and jumpers. To help us return lost items quickly, we ask that all jackets, jumpers and hats be clearly labelled with your childβs name. Thank you for your support in keeping our playground tidy and lost property to a minimum.
Motherβs Day Celebrations
A heartfelt thank you to all the mums and carers who joined us for our lovely Motherβs Day breakfast last weekβit was a wonderful celebration of the special role you play in our school community.
We also extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated volunteers who helped organise and run the Motherβs Day Stall. Thanks to your efforts, we raised over $500, and every child was able to take home a gift for their mum or carer. A special thank you to Mrs Arevalo for her organisation and leadership in bringing this event together. Events like these truly highlight the strength and warmth of our school community.
Athletics Carnival
What a fantastic day of fun, energy, and team spirit! Congratulations to all students who participated in our Athletics Carnival. It was great to see so many students trying their best and cheering each other on. Thank you to Ms Mallia for your organisation and to all our staff who helped make the day run smoothly.
Stage 3 Fundraiser Success
Congratulations to our enterprising Stage 3 students who raised over $600 through their Ice Cream and Spiders fundraiser! Funds raised will go towards supporting the Stage 3 Camp and Year 6 Farewell. A wonderful effort by all involved!
Thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to the many exciting weeks ahead.
As always, if you have any concerns or feedback please come up to the school and see me.

πββοΈπ Whole School Athletics Carnival Wrap-Up π π
Yesterday, Regents Park Public School held our annual Athletics Carnival at The Crest Athletics Track, Bass Hill. It was a fantastic day where all students had the opportunity to participate, compete, and, most importantly, have fun.
Thankfully, the rain stayed away and allowed the day to run smoothly.
Students showcased their skills in a range of events including running races, discus, shot put, long jump, and high jump. Our younger students also enjoyed novelty events such as sack races, egg & spoon races, and other fun activities, ensuring there was something for everyone.
The carnival was a wonderful display of sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit. Students earned points for their house teams throughout the day.
Congratulations to Alkira, who took out the top spot for 2025, winning the most points at the carnival!
A big thank you to the parents and carers who attended to cheer on the students and support their house teams with enthusiastic chants and encouragement. Your presence added to the fantastic atmosphere of the day.
We would also like to give a special shout-out to the students who achieved Age Champion titles for their outstanding performances:
π 8 Years: Noel Kaimoana
π 9 Years: Nate Kaimoana & Hadia Bilal
π 10 Years: Mohammad Hassaini & Ester Katu
π 11 Years: Stephen Kavana & Meleana Latu
π 12/13 Years: Ahmed Al Shami & Aaliyah Harris
Well done to all our students for their efforts and sportsmanship. It was a day to remember!

π Disability Recognition Week π
π 2 Scarlet in the Spotlight π
βοΈ 2 Scarlet Showcase Their Literacy Skills! π
This week, 2 Scarlet have been hard at work practising their writing skills, with a focus on sounding out words and using phonics strategies to support their learning. By breaking down words into sounds, students are building essential reading and writing foundations. This helps them become more confident and independent writers, while also strengthening their spelling and comprehension skills.
Using phonics strategies allows students to decode unfamiliar words, making reading more accessible and enjoyable. It also encourages them to take risks in their writing and develop a deeper understanding of language patterns.
We are so proud of the effort 2 Scarlet has shown in their literacy learning.
π A special congratulations to the students who have earned a Bronze PBL Award for consistently following our school expectations. Keep up the fantastic work, 2 Scarlet β your hard work and positive attitude are truly shining!

π 3/4 Olive in the Spotlight π
βπ» Character Writing βπ»
This term in 3/4 Olive, students are exploring how to write detailed and imaginative character descriptions. To support this, each student has been given a 3D-printed model to use as inspiration. These physical models provide a concrete starting point, helping students visualise their characters and think more deeply about their appearance, personality, and story.
Students have enjoyed designing their characters by examining their models closely and imagining who they might be, what they do, and how they behave. This class assignment has made writing more engaging and has sparked some fantastic creativity in the classroom. Weβre looking forward to sharing their character descriptions with you soon!

Assembly Performance β Acro Routines
In the first week back this term, 5/6 Mint took to the stage at assembly to showcase their incredible Acro routines. The students have been working hard, building on the gymnastics skills theyβve learned, and their effort and dedication truly shone through.
It was a fantastic performance that highlighted their teamwork, strength, and growing confidence. Well done to all of our talented students for putting on such an impressive display. You should be very proud!

π‘ K Mauve in the Spotlight π‘
This week in maths K Mauve were learning about 3D objects. As one of our lessons, we were challenged to "Build a Rocket" out of recycled materials.
Each student brought in some recycled materials to build their rocket with. They could use any items that they wanted.
After building, students had to describe their rocket to a partner and say which 3D objects they used to build their rocket.
Thank you to our big buddies who helped us make our designs come to life. Now our rockets are ready for takeoff! π

π¦ Stage 3 Fundraiser Success! ποΈ
This week, our Year 5 & 6 students held a two-day ice-cream and spider fundraiser to help reduce the cost of their upcoming Stage 3 camp in Term 3. Thanks to the fantastic support from our school community, Stage 3 raised an impressive $680! Every dollar raised will go towards making camp more affordable for our students.
A huge shout out to all the parents and carers who generously donated items for the fundraiser β your support is truly appreciated and helped make the event such a success.
In Term 3, our Stage 3 students will have the exciting opportunity to attend camp at Kincumber, just an hour north of Sydney on the beautiful Central Coast. The Kincumber site is nestled on the shores of the Kincumber Broadwater and spans over 50 acres of pristine bushland β an ideal setting for outdoor education and adventure.
With 33 exhilarating activities to choose from, students will challenge themselves with experiences like raft building, archery, high ropes, rock climbing, and even soaring through the air on a giant 16-meter swing! There are opportunities for sea adventures, muddy obstacle courses, and team-building challenges β all designed to build resilience, confidence, and lifelong memories.
Not only is camp a fun and exciting experience, but it also supports studentsβ learning by aligning activities with curriculum outcomes and fostering personal growth.
A big thank you again to our Stage 3 students, staff, families, and community for your ongoing support. We canβt wait for the adventures ahead at Kincumber!

π PSSA Rugby League Achievement π
Congratulations to Michael Tuaefe, who was selected to represent Regents Park Public School and the Bankstown District PSSA Rugby League team at the Sydney South West Regional Championships on the 5th of May.
Michael and his team put in an outstanding effort, finishing as runners-up in a very competitive tournament.
Well done, Michael! We are so proud of your hard work, dedication, and the way you represented RPPS with pride!
π PSSA Soccer & Newcombe Ball Gala Day β½
Last Friday, our PSSA Soccer and Newcombe Ball teams proudly represented Regents Park Public School at their first Gala Day event for 2025. This year, the PSSA competition format has been updated to support families by reducing the number of weekly bus trips. Instead of weekly games, schools will now participate in a three-day gala event series, spread across Term 2.
We are incredibly proud of all the students who wore their RPPS jerseys with pride, showing fantastic sportsmanship, team spirit, and excellent behaviour throughout the day. Their efforts on and off the field are a credit to our school.
We look forward to seeing these teams in action again at the next Gala Day on Friday 30th May. Best of luck to all involved!

π³ Breakfast Club π³
Breakfast Club Launch at RPPS
We are excited to introduce Breakfast Club at Regents Park Public School! This wonderful initiative provides students with the opportunity to enjoy a healthy breakfast to help fuel their brains and bodies for a full day of learning.
We understand that mornings can be busy, and sometimes breakfast can be missed. Our Breakfast Club is designed to ensure that every student has the chance to start their day with the energy and nutrition they need to focus, learn, and thrive in the classroom.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all students, participation in the Breakfast Club will be by invitation only. Students will be invited by their class teacher and will need to return a signed permission slip from their parent or carer. This is important so we can be aware of any allergies or dietary needs.
Breakfast Club will also provide a welcoming and supportive environment for students to connect with friends and teachers before school starts, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.
We are looking forward to seeing the positive impact this program will have on our studentsβ well-being and learning outcomes.

Join us for our Parent Group Meeting this Thursday, 22nd May at 9:00 AM in the school library! π
