Spotlight on the Arts: A Longstanding Partnership with Honolulu Theatre for Youth

Our school is thrilled to announce the continuation of a cherished and long-standing partnership with the Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY), bringing a unique artistic experience to our 2nd and 3rd graders. This year, we are excited to have HTY artists working with our students from August 11th to August 21st, thanks to the generous support of the Hawaii Artists in the School Grant.

Through this special program, our students are diving into the world of creative movement, learning to express themselves and tell stories through their bodies. The talented artists from HTY are guiding our young learners, helping them build confidence, develop their creativity, and explore new ways of communicating. This partnership is a testament to our school's commitment to providing a rich and well-rounded education that includes the arts.

We extend our deepest gratitude to several key partners who made this valuable experience possible:

  • Community Partnerships Coordinator Courtney Carpenter, for her diligent work in securing the Artists in the Schools grant.

  • The Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, for their continued support of arts education in our state.

  • And of course, the amazing and talented artists from the Honolulu Theatre for Youth, for their dedication to our students and their craft.

We look forward to seeing the incredible creativity that our students will unleash through this program and are proud to be a part of this enduring collaboration that enriches the lives of our students.
