A Message from Principal Mike Cappucci

Hello Mableton Families!

What a great Conference Week! Thank you to all of our families who took the time to join us for Student-Led Conferences. It was wonderful seeing so many of you in our building and watching our students proudly share their learning, goals, accomplishments, and areas for continued growth.

How impressed were you with your child’s Student-Led Conference? Because we were VERY impressed!

Our Jaguars did an amazing job taking ownership of their learning and talking about their progress. These conferences are about much more than grades and scores—they help our students build confidence, responsibility, communication skills, and pride in their accomplishments. Thank you to our families for being such an important part of the process and for continuing to partner with us as Champions for Kids!

Square 1 Art Fundraiser Has Started!

Our Square 1 Art Fundraiser is officially underway! Your child has created a special piece of artwork that can be transformed into personalized keepsakes and gifts for your family.

Square 1 Art allows families to order items featuring their child’s very own artwork. These make wonderful keepsakes and gifts for parents, grandparents, family members, and friends—and your purchases also help support our school!

We can’t wait to see our Jaguars’ creativity come to life!

Trunk or Treat – October 30!

One of our BIGGEST and most highly attended family events of the year is almost here!

Our annual Trunk or Treat will be held on October 30, and we need your help to make it another incredible night for our students and families.

We are still looking for candy donations to help us make sure there are plenty of treats for everyone. Donations can be sent to school as we get closer to the event.

We also need families to decorate and host a trunk! Gather the family, pick a fun theme, decorate your vehicle, and join us for a great evening with our Mableton community. The more trunks we have, the bigger and better the experience will be for our Jaguars!

Trunk or Treat is always one of our most highly attended events, and we would love to have as many families involved as possible. Whether you donate candy, decorate a trunk, or simply come out and enjoy the evening with us, we are looking forward to seeing you.

Thank you for another wonderful week and for everything you do to support our students, teachers, and school community. Together, we continue to create the Ultimate Learning Experience for every Jaguar!

Have a great week, Mableton!

Your Proud Principal,

Mike Cappucci

Square 1 Art Fundraiser

Our Square 1 Art Fundraiser is here!

Our students have been creating amazing artwork, and now families will have the opportunity to turn their child's creativity into special keepsakes!

Square 1 Art catalog flyers were already sent home! These flyers will provide more information about the fundraiser and the unique items you can order featuring your child's artwork.

Every order helps support our art room! Your participation helps us provide art supplies and materials that allow our Mableton Jaguars to continue creating, exploring, and expressing their creativity.

These special keepsakes are a wonderful way to celebrate your child's artistic growth while supporting our art program!

Thank you for supporting our little artists and helping keep creativity thriving at MES!

With creativity and gratitude,

Mrs. Alvarez
Art Teacher

Champion Parent Tip of the Week: Teach Them That Mistakes Are Safe

Children sometimes become so worried about being wrong that they stop taking chances. But mistakes are a normal — and important — part of learning. Whether it is a missed math problem, a word read incorrectly, or a choice they wish they could redo, a mistake can become a powerful learning opportunity.

When something goes wrong, try replacing “Why did you do that?” with “What happened?” or “What could you try differently next time?” You can even share an age-appropriate mistake you made and what you learned from it. This helps children understand that nobody gets everything right the first time.

At Mableton, we want our Jaguars to be brave enough to try, reflect, and try again. CHAMPions grow because they learn from both their successes and their mistakes!

Support Our School EVERY TIME you shop- Kroger Rewards

Did you know you can support our students just by doing what you already do — grocery shopping at Kroger? It’s quick, easy, and costs you nothing extra.

By linking your Kroger account to our school through Kroger Community Rewards, a portion of every eligible purchase is donated directly back to our school. There are no fees, no extra steps at checkout, and your fuel points and coupons stay the same.

Even better, this doesn’t stop with just your household. Family members, friends, grandparents, neighbors — anyone who shops at Kroger can link their account to our school, no matter where they live. The more people who participate, the more support our students receive.

Every dollar earned goes directly to our kids. These funds help support student programs, classroom resources, enrichment activities, and special experiences that make school more engaging, exciting, and meaningful for our students.

Thank you for being a Champion for Kids and for supporting our school in such a simple, powerful way. One small step on the app can make a big difference in the lives of our students.

Here is how you do it:

Step-by-Step for Families (App or Website)

Using the Kroger App (most popular):

  1. Open the Kroger app

  2. Tap the ☰ menu (top corner)

  3. Tap Rewards

  4. Select Community Rewards

  5. Search for our school by name or organization number

  6. Select the school and Enroll

Using a Computer:

  1. Go to kroger.com and sign in

  2. Click My Account

  3. Select Community Rewards

  4. Search for the school

  5. Click Enroll

That’s it — once enrolled, every eligible purchase automatically helps the school.

Visitor Entry Procedures

To ensure the safety of our students, staff, and school community, all visitors must adhere to the following procedures when arriving at the school:

  1. Ring the Doorbell:
Upon arrival at the school entrance, visitors are required to ring the doorbell located at the main entrance. This notifies staff of your presence.
  2. Hold ID to the Camera:
After ringing the doorbell, please hold a valid, government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport) up to the camera for verification.
🔹 IDs must be in hard copy form. Digital copies or IDs displayed on a phone or other electronic device will not be accepted.
This step helps us confirm your identity before granting entry.
  3. State the Nature of Your Visit:
Once your ID has been shown, speak clearly into the intercom system and state the reason for your visit. Please provide specific details (e.g., meeting with a staff member, student pick-up – include the student’s name, delivering supplies).
  4. Wait for Authorization:
After verification, school staff will authorize your entry.
🚫 Please do not hold the door open for others who have not completed the check-in process.

These measures are in place to maintain a secure and safe environment for everyone at Mableton Elementary. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
