Professional Development
This month’s professional development session focused on unpacking the concept of social deprivation from The Anxious Generation and its impact on student engagement. Staff discussed how cell phone use deepens social disconnection by amplifying the fear of being wrong or dismissed, ultimately silencing participation and weakening authentic connection. The session provided strategies to help students work collaboratively by using structured conversations and creating cultures where everyone feels heard and valued.
