Mr. Kevin Dick

My leadership at Pettigrew will end at the end of the school year. The new principal at Pettigrew will be Mr. Tim Wagner. In the selection of Mr. Wagner, the district has made an effort to hear from parents, community members and staff, about the characteristics that they are interested in having in a new leader.

First and foremost, I want to thank each of you, parents, for your support of our educational efforts of your children here at Pettigrew School, over the years that I have had an opportunity to lead this learning community. At times, you may not have agreed with an individual decision made by this administrator, but our conversations have been respectful. You have always understood that the basic interest of all parties, both you as parents and the school district, are on the same path. I have felt your support, even in times of distress, misunderstanding and times of communication and dialogue. I have always strived to be as communicative as possible, as transparent as I am able, and to work toward what is best for students, and thus, ultimately, what is best for families at Pettigrew.

Since Mr. Wagner has been announced as the new administrator at Pettigrew School, this announcement creates a sense of anticipation and excitement for the future. As Mr. Wagner becomes acquainted with our community and we face a period of transition, together, I want to encourage you to support him in the same fashion that I have felt your support. It is a large community, and because of this, the office may at times seem like a distant place, but I know that Mr. Wagner will do everything possible to become acquainted with the community of Pettigrew and the procedures and practices we engage in, while we educate our students, together.

There will be mistakes, just as there have been mistakes in my tenure, and I hope you provide Mr. Wagner as much grace as you have provided me, in these times of learning and making adjustments. Mr. Wagner will most assuredly come forward with new ideas and new practices, and this will serve to benefit Pettigrew School in a more effective manner in the future. Please be open minded and ready for change, as new thoughts and movements are discussed and implemented. We have come a long way in my 13 years, the future is very bright for Pettigrew School, and it will be an exciting place to lead and an engaging place to be a part of. My truly best wishes go with this community and you all!!

March Parent Input –Pettigrew staff will be working together on classroom assignments for the 2025-2026 school year in the coming weeks and months. Our goal is to ensure a well-balanced blend in each classroom. We realize that parents and guardians may wish to provide input about how your child learns best. You may obtain a PARENTAL INPUT FORM in the school office for you to offer this input after March 7th. This is NOT a form to request a specific teacher’s classroom by name, but rather to tell a bit about the environment that your child learns best within. All input must be in writing on this confidential form and returned to the Pettigrew School office by Thursday, March 28th. Information from this form will be considered. However, to allow us to achieve a set of balanced classrooms, the final decision for student placement rests with the school administrators.
