We Are Getting Ready!

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! Teachers and staff are getting ready to start the year off in ways that make students feel recognized and have a sense of belonging.

Similar school year prep is probably going on in your homes too. Please help your child practice going to bed, waking up, getting dressed, and eating a healthy breakfast in a way that matches the school year. Thank you for setting your family up for success as we all transition into this new school year.

We can't wait to meet new members of the Stampede and welcome back returning ones!

On a Personal Note

I am thrilled to be back at Steindorf, this time as your principal. Returning to a school that has meant so much to me has been a true joy. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together as one united team, building on Steindorf's strong tradition of academic excellence, meaningful life skills, and a caring community that makes this school so special.

Warmly,

Principal Debbie Stein

Additional Parking Available at Target

Target has graciously agreed to allow us to use their lot close to the corner of Ross and Hillsdale. It's a 5 minute walk to the school, as our parking lot can get congested during arrival and dismissal. Please park in the designated areas only. What Should Students Bring?

Student should bring the following to school.

  • Backpack
  • Water bottle
  • Snacks/lunch are optional as meals are provided by the school.

Do NOT Bring:

  • Sports equipment
  • Toys/stuffed animals
  • Gum
  • Candy

To help prevent treasured belongings from being lost, damaged, or misplaced, and to keep the focus on learning, we ask that students leave personal toys, collectibles, electronics, and other non-school items at home unless they have been specifically requested by their teacher.

Tips for Preparing for School Tips for Preparing for School

A few preparation can help families get ready for school

  • Establish bedtime routines. Resume the regular bedtime routines well before school starts to help ease the kindergarten transition. Talk to your child about why the change is necessary and how it will help their back-to-school transition.

  • Establish a morning routine. Engaging in multiple new morning routine "dry runs" to help with time management. See how much time it will take. Whether juggling other household member's morning schedules or driving to the new school, school preparation almost always takes more time than you think. Be ready and expect the unexpected.

  • Plan for breakfast. Making time for breakfast before or upon arrival at school is important. Be sure to adjust your morning schedule to account for the extra time for your child to enjoy breakfast. As I mentioned earlier in this letter, Cambrian School District is pleased to offer all students complimentary breakfast and lunch meals. Meals will be available for pickup in the cafeteria during scheduled meal periods.
