Principal's Message
Tiger Family,
As we wrap up another year here at BGHS, I'd like to take a moment to thank you for all you have done to support us in our continual forward progress. While staff and students depart for summer, me and my admin team will work on closing out the year, reviewing our progress towards our School Improvement Plan, and start planning for our next steps as we prepare for the 25-26 year. I'll share out a summary when we are finished so that you can review and give feedback as well.
We have had a beautiful year of growth and are excited for what is to come as we work to be the best comprehensive high school in Washington. Wishing you a restful, peaceful, and safe Summer! Please reach out if you need anything!
It's an honor to serve you.

Math Nation and Summer Learning
Are you looking for summer math help, here is a free resource.
You're invited: Learn about potential new curriculum for all high schoolers
You're invited: Learn about potential new curriculum for all high schoolers and provide your input
Battle Ground Public Schools is considering new curriculum for social and emotional learning that would be used starting next school year, and eventually affect all high school students in the district. We believe that input from families and community members is essential to the process of adopting this new curriculum.
Over the past year, the district has reviewed different curricula and narrowed the options to one finalist, Wayfinder, that will be presented to the school board for their consideration. Now you have an opportunity to be involved:
Review all of the lessons
See the teaching materials
Ask questions
Provide feedback that will help inform the school board’s decision. The first reading of the proposed curriculum will be during the board of directors meeting on July 28, 2025. Get meeting information.
How to participate
Everyone is welcome, even if they do not currently have a child enrolled in a Battle Ground school.
Virtual review on Tuesday, June 10, at 6 p.m. Join the Zoom meeting. Due to copyright restrictions, this meeting will not be recorded.
Community review night Thursday, June 12, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at CASEE A (11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie, WA 98606). Drop in anytime, no RSVP required.
By appointment June 2-June 22. To make an appointment, please email projectaware@battlegroundps.org or call Assistant Director of Project AWARE Erick Suksdorf at 360-885-5440.
View limited samples online. The full lessons and teaching materials can be viewed only during the review night or by appointment due to copyright restrictions.
After you have reviewed the curriculum, we invite you to provide your feedback by June 22.
Why this curriculum matters
The proposed curriculum would build on the social-emotional learning already in place for primary and middle school students since 2023. It aims to support high schoolers with essential life skills such as kindness, respect, communication, collaboration, self-confidence and adaptability. Past surveys of BGPS students, parents/guardians and staff members have pointed to the need for schools to teach character education and a variety of social and emotional skills.
If approved, the items would be purchased using funds from a grant that the district received in 2023.
Help us highlight the class of 2025!
Battle Ground Public Schools wants to highlight our outstanding members in the class of 2025.
If you are interested in being part of this year’s grad highlight feature, please fill out a short Google Form questionnaire (Русский) (Español) and upload a photo of yourself. Selections may be featured on the district website, social media channels and more.

Report Incidents Anonymously with Safe Schools
Please report bullying, intimidation, harassment, threats and safety concerns using our anonymous reporting system. Reporters can remain anonymous. Emergencies should always be reported to 911. Learn more about emergency procedures and safety protocols.
Report, don’t repost
If you see or hear of a possible threat, please report it to law enforcement directly and/or to school staff. This is the best and most helpful action because it begins an investigation and helps to limit the potential for misinformation to spread. Reposting or sharing a threat on social media in an attempt to warn others spreads the threat farther from its original source and may cause unnecessary alarm and fear. You can report bullying, intimidation, harassment, threats and safety concerns using our anonymous reporting system. Emergencies should always be reported to 911.
