Message from Mr. Imbusch
Dear students, staff, and parents/guardians:
Tonight is Prom Night! Although the temperatures are cool, it looks like the rain will hold off until later. We have planned a wonderful evening of food, dancing, and socializing. The Prom is being held at Gillette Stadium. It begins at 6pm and ends at 10:00pm. Please remember that all students must remain at the venue until at least 9:30pm. Students may enter the East Gate Door at 6pm (on the movie theater side). Please see the attached map for entering and parking at Gillette. When you arrive, you will need to be checked in, and there will be a receiving line where you can meet the faculty and introduce yourself and your guest (if you are bringing one). We look forward to seeing you all dressed up!
Never to be one to miss out on a teachable moment… "I am going to the prom." or "I am going to prom." Which is correct? In both examples, "prom" is an abbreviation of "promenade." In the first example, it's just the name of the event, "the promenade." In the second, it is the verb "to promenade" (take a leisurely public walk, ride, or drive so as to meet or be seen by others). Both are correct. You can go "to the promenade" or "to promenade." One is where you'll be, the other is what you'll be doing. Either way, I hope you have fun!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Sincerely,
Stephen Imbusch
Principal
