WEEK 17
Week 17 (December 9 - 13)
Greetings World Class Parents/Guardians,
Congratulations to our Hawthorne Elementary School Spelling Bee Champion, Oliver Boyd, and our Runner-Up, Ivana Diaz! We are so proud of all the students who participated in the Spelling Bee on Wednesday, December 4th. Their hard work, courage, and commitment to excellence truly shined.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Kim for facilitating an outstanding winter concert! Her dedication and leadership, combined with Ms. Pope’s support, created a spectacular showcase of the incredible talent of our 4th and 5th grade students. Thank you, parents, for filling the audience with your enthusiasm and support—it made the evening even more special. We are so proud of our young musicians and grateful for the strong community that surrounds them!
As our very first soccer season comes to a close, we couldn’t be prouder of our players and coaching staff (Mr. Barnes, Coach Adrine & Ms. McKandes) On Saturday, our hornets faced two challenging games. The determination and teamwork displayed by our players were remarkable.
This season was about more than just wins and losses—it was about building a foundation, growing together as a team, and showcasing the incredible potential of our athletes. Thank you to everyone inclusive of our parents who contributed to making this inaugural season such a success. We’re excited about the future of our soccer program and can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
As we approach the 17th week of school, it is time to complete our MID YEAR SURVEY! Please click link below to complete! We need to hear from you to make your child's school experience even better. Survey closes December 18th.
I want to remind everyone again of the importance of consistent attendance. Please ensure that your child is at school every day, on time, unless they are genuinely ill. It’s critical that students do not miss more than 18 days in a school year. Our overall attendance rate last year was 93%, however our attendance goal for this school year is 95% and we need your help to maintain this goal. Daily attendance plays a direct role in academic success, and it’s essential that your child arrives before 7:45 AM to avoid disrupting the learning environment for others. If you’ve recently moved, please notify the school immediately.
Additionally, I continue to ask that all families review our shared safety responsibilities below to help keep our community secure and welcoming for everyone. During carpool hours, it is so important that you follow the guidance of our school staff on AM and PM duty to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
More great events happening this week!!! Please SAVE THE DATES below. We look forward to seeing families and students actively engaged!
Thank you always for entrusting us with the privilege of educating and nurturing your children!
Proud to Serve,
-Principal Henley
