A Few Words From the Principal

Thursday 1st quarter came to an end. We took some time to celebrate our accomplishments through class activities and a pep assembly. One of my highlights of the day was listening to our 7th graders AI policy presentations. I enjoyed the research they used to develop their proposed AI policies as well as how objective the presentations were in addressing the benefits and drawbacks of AI use. 7th graders be prepared for more questions about your work as we discuss this topic more.

Today the teachers spent some time learning and developing plans for next quarter. Thank you to the PTA for providing us with a build your own Chex mix snack bar today to keep us going.

We are all looking forward to the start of quarter 2 on Tuesday.

Additionally, we invite local veterans and current service members who are close to the MTMS family to join us for donuts and a short assembly beginning at 7:55am.

Recycling Program at MT

Thanks to the efforts of Ms. Million, MT is finally getting our recycling program running! WOOHOOOOO! Please encourage your student to recycle bottles, cans, cardboard, and paper to the blue classroom bins AND in the two cafeteria bins! These can also be used at sporting events.

The most important piece of information is the use of the large, outdoor recycling container. In the past, the community was contaminating this container with non-recyclable items (such as dog waste 🀒). Each violation is charged a sizable fee, and it was costing a considerable amount to the district. We need your help to ensure this bin is used ONLY for recyclables! It has been placed in an alternate location near the bike racks with cameras to limit improper use. We are working to get a trashcan placed in the same vicinity for dog waste and such.

Students who ride bikes and scooters should be aware that the recycling truck needs to get to the container and bikes need to be off the path and parked in the racks!

Ms. Million is very excited to get this rolling with student helpers! If you have questions, please contact her at lmillion@usd232.org.

Student Fees Due Upon Receipt

School fees were posted in to parent Skyward accounts in August and are available to pay several different ways - either in-person with cash or check or online through e-Funds (step-by-step guide is attached). If you would like to discuss fees or set up a payment plan, please contact the office and we'll be happy to work with you. Thank you for supporting our school and your student's learning!

All student athletes are required to pay the Catastrophic Insurance fee of $7.63 as part of their student fees. This fee is required by the district regardless of personal health insurance coverage. If you have not already done so, please make sure this fee has been paid ASAP so that your student's ability to compete is not affected.
