Immunizations are due on September 10th

Please contact the school nurse if you are having issues getting your child's immunizations taken care of. We provide grace for families that are in progress or are working with our team. By state law we are required to have a deadline and we would never want to remove a child from school for any reason. Thanks for your help.

PBIS Update Sept. 3-6 …

The Playground

The first area we will cover in Wellness class is the playground. Aug 29-Sept 6 is the first rotation in Wellness. We will walk out and visit the playground. The playground expectations are as follows:

Responsibility

  • Calm Body
  • line up when whistle blows, get body calm
  • hands to self

Kindness

  • Right Thing, Right Time
  • wait your turn
  • follow directions

School Pride

  • Kind Words
  • kind words when on playing
  • I statements to solve problems

Respect

  • Our Building, Our Home
  • share equipment
  • return equipment when finished

Our district's PBIS focus words are responsibility, kindness, school pride, and respect. In an effort to teach those words we have come up with “key words” to clue our younger kids in. We will use the phrases, our calm body, or right things at the right time, kind words, or our building our home. These are phrases you can use at home as well. They are a positive way to gain your child's attention and help them to self regulate.

PBIS Update Sept. 9-13…

The Lunchroom

The second area we will cover in Wellness class is the lunchroom. Sept 9-Sept 16 is the second rotation in Wellness. All classes will walk down to the lunchroom together. These are the expectations we will discuss together as well as some common lunchroom scenarios.

Responsibility

  • Calm Body
  • stay in my space at the table,

  • feet on the floor

Kindness

  • Right Thing, Right Time
  • follow directions

  • eat first, talk second

School Pride

  • Kind Words
  • restaurant voices (Level 1)

  • kind words with friends

Respect

  • Our Building, Our Home
  • pick up your area

One of the hardest things at the beginning of the year for kids at this age is time management in the lunchroom. We often hear parents say “My kid didn’t have enough time to eat.” Reviewing these expectations at home will help your child have plenty of time to finish their lunch. These are great skills to practice at your dinner table or the next time you go out to dinner. Ask your child to show what they know!

Don't forget to bring your ID: If you come to the office to drop off or pick up your child (early, late, or for an appointment) staff will ask you for a piece of identification and will help you with whatever you need.

Green Squares: For people walking your child to and from school, please do not approach the building beyond the painted green square which we refer to as the parent drop off square. Please only approach the building beyond those squares if you have an appointment in our building, have been granted special permission, or need to go to the office. If you need something, please connect with an adult for support.
