PTA Reflections
2025-2026 Art Competition Information
Hello Providencia Families!
Calling all young artists! The National PTA Reflections Art Competition is now underway. For over 50 years, Reflections has recognized and celebrated young artists across the country by giving them a fun opportunity to unleash creative talents, express themselves and receive positive recognition for their original works of art.
Reflections aims to tap into critical thinking skills by asking students to create art inspired by an annual theme. Our theme for 25-26 is “I Belong.” In the coming weeks we will be talking to students about the Reflections competition and this year’s theme. It would be great if families could continue this conversation at home to help inspire your children to express their creative ideas and be a part of Reflections this year.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10TH
Students can enter work in the following categories:
Students may submit entries in more than one category and more than one entry in a single category.
Artwork will be reviewed by qualified judges for each category in the following divisions:
Primary - Grades Pre K-2
Intermediate - Grades 3-5
Middle School - Grades 6-8
High School - Grades 9-12
Accessible Artist - This division is for any student who identifies as having a disability.
RULES
The reflections entry form has a link to all the Division & Category Guidelines, please read these carefully to make sure your child’s artwork meets the requirements. Here are some important guidelines to know:
All submissions MUST BE ORIGINAL and created for the purpose of this program and this year’s theme. There must be no copyright material of any kind and no use of AI. The rules are very firm on this. (no drawings of Pokemon characters or even having a NIKE logo across your shirt in your film entry). However background music can be used in dance choreography and film production entries, and it must be cited on the entry form (title, composer and performer).
Only ONE STUDENT may create the work and be recognized as the award recipient, but other students may appear in the artwork itself.
Students should use ARTIST STATEMENT to express how their submission relates to the theme. The judges weigh the artist's statement heavily because it explains their art. It must be a minimum of 10 words, and a max of 100.
For the Artist Statement and other entries that involve written word, dictation is permissible based on the student being able, rather than their age. If the student artist is unable, entries may be dictated to another person and printed or typed in exact words as provided by the student.
STUDENT ENTRY FORMS must be FILLED OUT COMPLETELY, HAVE A TITLE and REQUIRE AN ARTIST STATEMENT!
Click here or on the button below to learn how to make an entry.
PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ENTRIES DIGITALLY
Electronic submission is the preferred way to enter and please note that your child's school email address should not be used. Make sure to enter an email where you will be reachable. This is our line of communication to you regarding your students' entry and the art gallery/award night. Please make sure you hit the SUBMIT button when submitting via the digital form! You will receive a confirmation email that your entry was received. If you do not get this confirmation, we did not receive your submission so please double check this. If a digital entry is not possible for you, paper forms will be available in the office in English and Spanish.
Finally, all students who enter the competition will be invited to attend our Reflections Gala night on December 5th. This event allows the students to be truly celebrated in style and it is a wonderful opportunity for them to experience their creative work displayed for their peers and families to admire. More info about this event will be available at a later date.
