Greetings Lockerman Families,

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! We are so excited to welcome our Wildcats back to school tomorrow. Our staff has been busy preparing for a great start and a successful school year for all! Middle school is such a unique and critical time in our students' lives. As pre-teens and early teens start exploring opportunities to be independent, your support and guiderails from the adults in their lives are so important. Middle school is a great time to build strong habits, and that is what you will hear echoed from our team this year because Middle School Matters! Let's start strong together!

As always, please reach out if we can be of assistance. We look forward to working together this year!

Classroom Communication

To keep you informed and involved, we’re continuing to use Rooms, our two-way communication tool that helps you stay connected with your child’s teachers and school staff.

And this year, Rooms has improved some of their features:

  • SMS Text Notifications
You’ll now receive text message notifications whenever a new message or announcement is sent in Rooms. Each text includes a direct link to view the content in your mobile browser or in the app.

→ Click here to learn how to set your notification preferences.

  • One Messaging Inbox
Our school app has been updated to give you one, single place to see all of your messages across all children. From this inbox, you can read, reply, or start new messages. This feature is available through the CCPS App, available in the App Store and Google Play.

  • Upgraded Messaging Features
Our messaging experience now lets you react to messages with emojis, respond in threads, send photos and videos, mute group messages, and more!

Check out this overview of the new experience, or watch this short video (video in Spanish or click on Haitian Creole) to learn more about what’s new for this year.

We’re here to help make communication simpler, more consistent, and easier to manage this year! Please let us know if you have any questions.

Choptank Health joins us in welcoming your family to the 2025-2026 school year, with a reminder to set your students up for a healthy, successful year by ensuring they are enrolled in our School-Based Health Center.

School-Based Health Centers function like a typical doctor’s office, with medical providers assessing and diagnosing illness, writing prescriptions, performing lab tests—including for strep, influenza, and

Covid—and physicals including routine well visits and sports physicals. Dental services include screenings, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatment, and emergency visits.

Appointments can be made by calling your student’s health center at 667-238-8050. It’s never too late to help your child enjoy a healthy school year by enrolling them in School-Based Health.

Use these links to enroll your student in School-Based Health, with more information also at

Emailing School & District Staff

Spam filters are designed to identify emails that attackers or marketers use to send unwanted or dangerous content. They also throw out malware, malicious, and virus-infested emails and protect user security. Unfortunately, spam filtering is an inexact science that at times blocks legitimate messages.

Should you send an email to a staff member and not receive a reply within a reasonable amount of time (no more than 48 hours), please call the office.
