A Week of Literacy, Service, and Celebration

This past week was full of meaningful moments across our campus. We had the opportunity to celebrate Ms. Zamora and recognize the care and support she continues to provide for our students and families. Her work reminds us how important it is to support the whole child.

Literacy Week brought excitement and creativity to our classrooms. Thank you for helping make the week engaging for students and for supporting Literacy Night with the Children’s Literacy Initiative. It was wonderful to see families come together to celebrate reading and learning.

Our students are also continuing to show their heart for service. We are raising funds for the American Heart Association, and the House of Isibindi is collecting supplies for first aid kits for each classroom. These efforts help our students see the importance of helping others and taking care of their community.

As we continue preparing for Spring Break, the week ahead will bring more opportunities for learning and celebration. Students are getting ready for the Science Fair, and BSO will be on campus to share how science is used in their work. We will end the week with our fifth graders participating in the Power of Positivity event, while teachers finalize report cards.

Please also remember that an email was sent regarding gifted students. I need responses by Monday so we can ensure we are meeting the needs of those learners. In addition, we are preparing for another APR visit. Coaches will be reaching out to share expectations and request materials as we get ready.

I also want to share that I have almost completed my second round of observations. It was a pleasure to see how comfortable many of you are in your craft and how students are working to meet expectations in your classrooms. The growth and confidence in instruction across campus is encouraging to see.

Thank you for continuing to pour your energy into our students and into the many opportunities we create for them each week.

Remember that we are:

💚 Kind & Curious like Isibindi

❤️ Responsible and Brave like Amistad

💙 Creative and we Persevere like Rêveur

🖤 Have Integrity & understand Perspective like Altruismo

💛 We are INL, we Inspire, Nuture, and Lead!

A.P. Wright-Garcia's Week in a Wrap

Hola, Panther Family 💛🐾

Thank you for the continued focus and momentum across campus. The consistency in instruction, testing support, and enrichment opportunities continues to move our Panthers forward as we head into an important stretch of the school year.

Panther Bootcamp Update
Panther Bootcamp will continue this Wednesday, March 11. After that session, there will be no Bootcamp tutoring or Saturday School for the following two weeks.

Bootcamp will resume Tuesday, March 25, and Saturday School will resume on March 28 after we return from Spring Break. Thank you again to our tutoring educators who continue investing additional time in our students.

WIDA Testing Update
Great news. WIDA testing is now officially complete. Thank you to everyone who supported the testing process and helped ensure a smooth experience for our students.

This week we will review all materials, pack them carefully, and prepare them to be shipped back to the district.

Science Fair Reminder
Science projects are due March 10, and our Science Fair will take place on March 11.

Please ensure all science boards are fully completed and that project artifacts are attached, as we will begin setting up displays Tuesday evening.

An email will be sent on Monday, March 9 with the schedule indicating when classes will attend the Science Fair.

Report Cards and Early Release Reminder
Thursday is an Early Release Day, and it is also the deadline for report cards. All report cards must be completed and finalized before leaving campus.

A sign off sheet will be available for teachers to confirm completion before departing for the day.

Upcoming District APR SIP Visit

The district will be back on campus March 26th for another visit. They will be looking for all of the action steps outlined in our SIP regarding ESE/SWD students. Please ensure lesson plans are up -to date- with ESE and ESOL accommodations, small groups are included on your plans as well. They will also be looking to see that items added to lesson plans are occurring in the classroom. They will also be looking for Your inclusion of your character lessons (P2) on your plans. Be sure that you are updating that section at the top of your lesson plans. None of this is anything new so it should be nothing more than ensuring you are up-to-date. Also work samples may be requested from your ESE/SWD students for uploads which are due on March 12th. The coaches will let you know if a student was selected from your class for uploads.

Spring Break Reminder
Spring Break begins March 13, which is a trade day. There will be no students or teachers on campus for those who attended Imagine trade days at the beginning of the school year. Please plan accordingly as we approach the break.

Thank you for your continued professionalism, flexibility, and dedication to our students. March is a busy month, but it is also full of opportunity as we continue moving our Panthers forward. 🐾💛
