Summer Office Hours Begin June 1

District offices will begin summer hours June 1, 2026. District offices will be open 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday with offices closed every Friday. Summer hours will end on July 24, 2026.

Summer Reading Challenge

Did you know summer is when students are at risk of facing setbacks in their reading skills if they take too much time away from reading? The Beanstack Summer Reading Challenge can help ensure your child stays on track!

Turn up the heat and dive into your perfect summer read! From June 1 through July 31, our district is participating in Beanstack’s summer reading challenge, “Find Your Reading Joy.” Whether it’s a page-turning thriller, an uplifting audiobook, or a comforting graphic novel, celebrate the stories that make your heart happy this summer.

We challenge our community to read and log as much as they can during the challenge. As you explore new genres or revisit old favorites, you will earn new badges for logging your reading in the Beanstack app. Plus, the top-performing libraries and schools have the chance to win our grand prize of $3,000 and a virtual author visit! So grab a book and find your reading joy. We can’t wait to see which stories light up your summer!

Summer EBT

The end of the school year is exciting, but it shouldn't mean an end to nutritious meals. To help close the "summer hunger gap," the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (Summer EBT) program is providing grocery-buying support to families while school is out of session.

The Benefit: Families will receive a one-time payment of $120 for each eligible school-aged child.

The Method: Benefits arrive on pre-loaded cards (similar to a debit card) that can be used at most grocery stores to purchase healthy food.

The Goal: To ensure every student has access to the nutrition they need to grow, play, and return to school ready to learn.

This program is administered exclusively through the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Because this is a state-run initiative, individual schools and the district office do not have access to EBT account information. Please direct all questions regarding eligibility or benefits to the Summer EBT Call Center at 1-800-482-8988

Youth Football League

North Little Rock Football is giving upcoming 3rd-6th grade athletes the opportunity to participate in the Charging Wildcat Youth Football League. This program is being built from the ground up to give students the opportunity to play football before they enter high school. The cost to register is $100. Natural Development Learning Center

Natural Development Learning Center, LLC, is offering a one-of-a-kind learning experience that will keep children engrossed in play and learning where summer learning can be crucial. The learning center incorporates academics, fine/gross motor skills, creativity, storytelling, dramatic play, physical development, and more all in one space for parents and families to engage together in the learning process.

Natural Development Learning Center is open from Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
