August 2026

Windsor Families,

What a wonderful first full week back at school! Our students have done an amazing job settling into their new routines, learning their schedules, getting to know their classrooms, and remembering all of the little details that make a school day run smoothly. There is always a lot to learn at the beginning of a new school year, and we are so proud of how our students have approached these new expectations with flexibility, enthusiasm, and kindness. Mrs. Soprano and I have already been able to get into many of the classrooms throughout the week to say hello, connect with students, and read to them. We will continue to visit rooms over the next several weeks as well. This year, our stories are focusing on differences, with a special connection to something we all experience each day, food at lunchtime. We are talking with students about how the foods we eat can be different because of our cultural backgrounds, family traditions, personal choices, or food allergies. Most importantly, we are learning that those differences are something to respect and appreciate. Our lunchrooms are wonderful places to see just how unique each of us can be, and they give us an opportunity to practice kindness, curiosity, and respect for one another. It has been a fantastic start to the school year!

*Please note: There was an error on the Back to School Night times for the second session.

Corrected time:

September 10th - Curriculum Night

6:30-6:50- 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, Ms. Irelan, Ms. Curran, Ms. Angelus
6:50-6:55- passing period
*6:55-7:15 - Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade, Ms. Blau, Mr. Pupillo, Ms. Klaw

Arrival:

If you are walking to school, please do not cross Windsor Drive in the middle, you must walk to the corner of Windsor and Miner and cross at the crosswalk. It is very dangerous to cross in the middle with the traffic from the street and from our drop and go line. All bikers must walk their bikes once they arrive on Windsor property/sidewalks, this is also for the safety of all.

Windsor historically has a VERY full lost and found, PLEASE label everything that comes to school with your child (ie: jackets, backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, hats, baseball hats, gloves, scarves, boots, snow pants, any accessories, sweatshirts). If it can be labeled, label it! 😁 Twice a year we take giant bags full of lost and found to be donated and we would really like to reduce this and return your belongings to you!

Thank you,

Mrs. Anastacio and Mrs. Soprano

REPEAT INFORMATION REPEAT INFORMATION

Cell Phones & Electronic Devices

As we begin the new school year, we want to remind families of our expectations regarding cell phones and other electronic devices at school, including wearables. These expectations are designed to help students stay focused on learning, minimize distractions, and support a positive school environment.

  • Middle school students are expected to turn off electronics and store devices in their middle school locker during the school day.

  • Elementary students are expected to leave electronics in the “off” position and in their backpacks throughout the school day.

  • A supervising teacher may grant permission for them to be used or if needed during an emergency.

  • They may not be used in any manner that will cause disruption to the educational environment or will otherwise violate student conduct rules.

The District will provide access to students who do not own a mobile learning device in circumstances when its use is required for instructional purposes during the day. Electronic devices may be used during the school day if:

  • Use of the device is provided in the student’s IEP, or

  • Permission is received from the student’s teacher with administrator approval

We appreciate your partnership in helping our students be present, engaged, and ready to learn each day. Please take a moment to review the flyer to the right, along with the full policy in the Parent/Student Handbook.
