WELCOME BACK AND THANKS

As we embark on this new term, I trust this message finds you well and refreshed after the festive period. It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome back to all our pupils and staff at Sledmere and Wetwang Federation.

First and foremost, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the thoughtful cards and gifts given to staff. Your generosity and kindness are deeply appreciated and serve as a testament to the strong, supportive community we have cultivated together.

Despite the ongoing building work on our bell tower, which continues to impact our full reopening, I am delighted to report that our pupils and staff have settled in remarkably well. Their resilience and adaptability in the face of these circumstances are truly commendable. We are eagerly anticipating a swift resolution to the problem and will keep you informed of any developments regarding our full reopening as soon as we are able.

It has been an absolute joy to witness the enthusiasm and eagerness with which our children have returned to their classrooms across all three year groups. Despite being in two different settings, the classrooms are once again alive with the sound of shared stories from the Christmas holidays and the palpable excitement of reuniting with friends. This zest for learning and social interaction is precisely what makes our school community so special.

CHRISTIAN VALUE OF THIS HALF-TERM

We are proud to be a Church of England school

Out vision is, 'Learning and growing in the love of God' (1 John 4:16)

We focus on one Christian value each half-term. This term, the focus of collective worship and wider school activiites is on 'Forgiveness.'

NEW LEARNING

The pupils have returned with a thirst for learning. We have exciting new topics with key drivers from Geography and Design and Technology.

Please look out for homework from the class teachers and support your child's learning with spellings, KIRFS and regular reading.

Should you have any questions about learning, please speak to the classteacher at the end of the day or make an appointment to see them via the school office.
