Classroom Happenings
ELA- Mrs. Forderhase
Science- Mrs. Kenney
This week in science, we began a project that incorporates density, chemistry, heat transfer, and the engineering design process. Students started their Tissue Paper Hot Air Balloon Project. Each day, students should be working with their partner to create their balloon. Each student should be completing their own document or paper packet and completing daily reflections. The daily reflections will be worth a summative grade (80% of the overall semester grade). We will complete the project next week. If you would like to support our classroom projects, we would greatly appreciate donations of tissue paper, duct tape, hot glue sticks, and glue sticks. Thank you!
Social Studies- Mr. Ward
This week in social studies, students completed their Banzai Budget simulation.
Students then learned about different ways of saving and investing money and a brief overview of insurance. We discussed bonds, stocks, certificates of deposit, mutual funds, savings and checking accounts. On Thursday, we took a quiz covering our second set of vocabulary terms.
