Weekly Update # 9 - October 13th - 19th
Where Little Panther Cubs Begin BIG Journeys
From the Principal
This is how we Take Chances, Make Mistakes and Get Messy! Our little Panther Cubs are learning to ROAR with pride and how “we do school”!
🐾 Week Nine at Luce Road
We’ve made it to Week Nine, and our Panther Cubs had an exciting week full of adventure! Every day, we see them ROAR with confidence as they grow in both learning and character. 📚💙
🖐️ Safe Hands & Responsibility
This week, we talked about Safe Hands and what it means to be responsible. At Luce Road, we always use safe hands.
Safe hands mean we use our hands for helping, sharing, playing, and caring. We don’t use our hands for hurting. When we use safe hands, we keep our friends, teachers, and school feeling calm and cared for.
This month, we’re also learning about Responsibility—taking action and understanding how our choices affect others.
Being responsible looks like:
-
Taking care of toys and materials
-
Cleaning up after yourself
-
Listening to directions
-
Using kind words
-
Trying your best
🌟 Responsibility Challenge
Each class will nominate a student at the end of the month who has shown outstanding responsibility. We can’t wait to celebrate their leadership!
💙 Where Little Panther Cubs Begin Big Journeys
At Luce Road, we’re so proud of the way our Cubs are growing into caring, curious, and confident learners. Week Nine shows we are well on our way to a year full of learning, laughter, and growth! 🐾✨
🧹 Instructional Coach Appreciation Day
We celebrated Instructional Coach Appreciation Day and honored our incredible Instructional Coaches Mrs. Oswald and Mrs. Lebron. 💙
Their hard work keeps Luce Road teachers strong in lesson planning and instructional strategy. When teachers need a teacher — they call their coaches!
Thank you, Mrs. Oswald and Mrs. Lebron, for supporting our staff and helping our Panther Cubs grow every single day. ✨🐾
CHILDCARE CORNER
Panther Pride on Parade! 🐾🎉
Our childcare program joined in the fun at this year’s Homecoming Parade! The children waved proudly from our float, decked out in school colors and big smiles. Families and staff cheered along the route, showing off our Panther spirit and community pride. It was a wonderful day to celebrate together—and the kids loved being part of the excitement!
TODDLER PRESCHOOL EXPERIENCE
🐮 Barnyard Fun in Toddler Preschool!
Our toddler and preschool friends have been busy exploring barnyard animals this week! From mooing cows and clucking chickens to soft sheep and playful pigs, the children are learning about the sounds, colors, and habitats of their favorite farm friends. Hands-on activities, songs, and stories are helping them build language skills while having a blast down on the “farm!”
👩🏻🚒 🚒 Fire Truck Visit Sparks Excitement! 🧑🏻🚒 🚒
Our childcare, preschool, and kindergarten students were thrilled to welcome the local fire department this week! Firefighters arrived in their big red trucks, giving the children an up-close look at the equipment they use to keep our community safe. Students learned about fire safety, asked great questions, and even got to see the flashing lights and hear the sirens. We’re so grateful to our local heroes for taking the time to visit and inspire our future helpers!
Important Notes to Parents
🧡 Calling All Parent Volunteers!
We love having our Luce Road families be part of the fun! If you’re interested in volunteering at the school—whether it’s helping in classrooms, assisting with events, or supporting special projects—your time and enthusiasm make a huge difference.
Please reach out to the office or your child’s teacher to learn how you can get involved. Thank you for helping make Luce Road such a warm and supportive community for our students!
Dressing for the Weather
Please help your child dress for the weather. Our Panther Cubs have outdoor recess 3 to 4 times a day. Mornings can be chilly, so send a jacket or hoodie and closed-toe shoes. Students are expected to go outside each time. Please label all items with your child’s name. Thank you for keeping our Cubs comfy and ready to play!
ID or Pick Up Line Tag
To pick up your child, please show your Pick Up Line Tag. If you do not have it, you must present a photo ID to the office staff. This is required every day, even if you forgot your tag.
For safety, please do not remove your child from the pick up line until a staff member dismisses them. Thank you for helping us keep all students safe.
Labeling Student Belongings
Parents and guardians, please label your Panther Cub’s belongings, including backpack, coat, lunch box, and water bottle. Our Lost and Found is filling up, and labeled items can be returned quickly. Thank you for your help!
Clothing
Please make sure you send a change of clothes in for your student. Sometimes accidents happen and it’s helpful for them to have a change of clothes.
Please make sure ALL of your student’s belongings are labeled with their name! If it gets lost, staff will know who to return it to!
