New Report Card Information New Report Card Information

Utica Community Schools is implementing a new Elementary Report Card this school year. This report card is designed to provide you with a clearer and more detailed understanding of your child's progress in relation to grade-level expectations.

The new report is directly tied to our district’s UCS Empowered strategic plan. We remain committed to our district’s mission to effectively partner with our parents to clearly communicate growth and our collaborative work to inspire remarkable achievement.

Over the past two years, this report card has been part of a pilot program in select classrooms. Throughout the pilot phase, we gathered valuable feedback from both teachers and parents. This input has been instrumental in shaping the final version of the report card, ensuring that it more effectively communicates student learning and growth.

Modifications were made to improve clarity, align more closely with curriculum standards, and provide more meaningful insights into your child’s academic development. We are confident that this updated tool will enhance the partnership between home and school by supporting more focused conversations about student progress.

This report card is designed to indicate students’ progress on grade level standards in the content areas of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Our hope is that this new report card will provide better insight into your child’s academic performance over the course of the school year. Please click this link to view the sample report cards provided for your reference.

Bike Safety Bike Safety

If your student rides their bike to school, please remind them to bring a bike lock and secure it in the bike rack each day. Keeping bikes locked helps ensure they stay safe while students are learning. Thank you for helping us keep our school community secure!

Character Strong October- Responsibility Character Strong October- Responsibility

This month our school will be focusing on the character trait of responsibility. Students will be learning what it means to make good choices, take care of their belongings, complete their work on time, and contribute positively to our school community. We encourage you to talk with your child about ways they can show responsibility at home and at school, as we work together to help our students grow into responsible and caring individuals.

Here are a few questions you can use as conversation starters with your child:

  • What does being responsible look like at school? At home?

  • Can you share a time today when you showed responsibility?

  • What happens if someone doesn’t act responsibly?

  • What’s one new way you want to show responsibility this month?

Thank you for your continued partnership and support!
