Principal's Weekly Message Wk. of 8/9/26 Principal's Weekly Message Wk. of 8/9/26

Welcome back Unicorn Families! We are racing towards success for the 2026-2027 school year. We are excited to welcome both students and families back into our building. We are your partners in education, and you are a vital piece to what we do, day in and day out with your child.

Meet the teacher will take place on Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity for students to meet their teacher, find their classroom, and prepare for a successful year!

Our doors/gates will open at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Parents are welcome to walk their students to class on the first day of school. After the first day, we will support students in the hallways as they make their way to class.

Breakfast will be served daily beginning at 8:15 a.m. in our cafeteria. Students arriving after 8:40 will receive a grab and go breakfast. While both breakfast and lunch are free in our cafeteria, we encourage parents to complete the free/reduced lunch application online. Completing this application helps our school to be identified for additional services and supports. Please be sure to click on the link below to complete your application.

Our August PTA/SAC meeting will be held on August 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the media center. Please join us as we plan out an exciting year for our students! We are looking for both board and general members. Please see the attached newsletter from our PTA President, Mr. Powell.

Our Annual Title 1 Meeting/Open House will be held on Wednesday August 26th at 5:30 p.m. in our cafeteria. Please come out to learn about all the magic that happens daily in your child's classroom. We hope to see each of you in attendance.

We are looking forward to an amazing school year! Thank you for your part in making this magic happen!

Magically yours,

Principal Dixon

Every student, every day. It's the Unicorn way!

Mark your calendars... Mark your calendars...

To ensure the safety of all, we ask that you adhere to the following safety protocols:

  • Our campus opens for students at 8:15 a.m. each day. Please don’t drop off or leave kids unattended prior to this time.
  • All parents entering our campus must possess a valid, acceptable form of ID. No exceptions
  • All visitors must enter through the front office when visiting our campus.
  • For the safety of all, we ask that you please use the identified crosswalks when coming on campus. Please DO NOT walk through the car circle during arrival/dismissal. Thank you for helping us keep you safe.
  • Please use our car circle for pick-up and drop off unless your student walks to school. This is the safest and most efficient way for students to enter and exit the campus.
  • School starts promptly at 8:45. Please ensure that your child arrives in a timely manner to arrive to class on time.
  • Please encourage your students to keep our campus safe by reporting anything that they see or hear that can jeopardize the safety of our campus. Thank you for your support of keeping out campus safe.
