Kreinhop Newsletter
Message from Mrs. Liesberger
Hello Wolfpack Families! I am thrilled to begin my 9th year as the Proud Principal of Kreinhop Elementary! I grew up right here in the amazing Klein ISD and am so fortunate to serve families in the place I've always called home. My husband and I have a 9 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. We love to spend time together as a family watching our children grow and learn new things!
I am so excited to see you all soon! This newsletter contains a lot of important information for a successful start to the school year. We hope you find it helpful, and if you have any questions please reach out to us!
The tardy bell rings at 8:05 am this year!
ALL car riders will be able to enter the campus at 7:30 am and either eat breakfast or wait in the cafeteria to be released to class at 7:45 am. We are hopeful this will help the carpool line move more quickly and get everyone inside before the tardy bell.

Apptegy Communication Tool
This year Klein ISD is using a new tool for communication! You will first need to download the Klein ISD app and set your notification and school preferences. Then click "Rooms" or "Messages" at the bottom. You will be prompted to "login". You will enter the phone number or email address associated with your student(s) in Skyward. After entering the verification code, you should see your students and begin receiving messages.
You will see announcements from your child's teacher in Rooms. You will use Messages to have a conversation back and forth with your child's teacher.
Instructions with graphics are linked HERE!
You can also visit this website: https://www.kleinisd.net/page/roomsforparents for help.
Campus Delivery Procedures
Please be aware that if you make a delivery to the front office for your child (folder, glasses, lunch, backpack, jacket, etc.) you will need to label the item, and then our front office staff will email and/or text his/her teacher to let them know there is an item in the front office. We do not have staff available to make deliveries all throughout the day.
Meals for the 2026-27 School Year
Klein will continue to use the School Cafe app for student meals. School Cafe allows you to see what your child is purchasing for breakfast/lunch, add money to your child's lunch account, and block your child's lunch account for a la carte purchases (extras). We encourage all families to apply for free/reduced meals electronically at https://www.schoolcafe.com/KLEINISD to see if your student(s) qualify for free or reduced price meals.

2026-27 Lunch Visitors
We are so excited to welcome you into our school, and we work very hard to keep our students safe and healthy. Please limit your visits to eat lunch with your child to one time per week. This will minimize the amount of visitors in the cafeteria and give your children the opportunity to socialize with their peers at lunch.
We also respectfully ask that you give us a few weeks to teach cafeteria procedures and expectations to our students. Lunch visitors will be welcomed beginning Tuesday, September 8th!
Parents are permitted to eat lunch with their own child, and their child only. Children may not bring friends to the parent table to eat with the parent, regardless of whether the other parent gave permission. Please adhere to this procedure so that we can continue to allow visitors on campus for lunch.
School Supplies
Still need to purchase pre-packaged school supplies? You can purchase pre-packaged school supplies from EPI, and they will be shipped directly to your home. Note that the prices have increased since our sale in May/June. If you would prefer to purchase your own school supplies, the list is linked below. Each picture is a link to the flyer!
Arrival and Dismissal Safety Information
- During carpool arrival, parking behind the staff vehicles parked in parking spaces to walk your child(ren) to the crosswalk will not be permitted. Please wait in the carpool line or park in a designated parking space.
- During carpool dismissal, you must have your carpool tag. If you do not have it, you need to park, go into the front office to get a new carpool tag, and return to the carpool line.
- During walker dismissal, parking along Falvel Rd. or in front of the gate to our side parking lot is not permitted. This creates a very dangerous situation for our students.
New Carpool Tag for 2026-27
Please complete the Google Form linked HERE to request a new carpool tag for the upcoming school year. Each year, we create a new tag. You MUST have this new carpool tag to pick your child up in the carpool line. For your child's safety, there are no exceptions made to this procedure.
This year we will issue numbers on the carpool tags instead of names! Students' numbers will be called at carpool dismissal.
This form will will close at noon on Monday, August 10th to ensure we have all of the requested tags prepared for Meet the Teacher.

State Law for Personal Communication Devices
Beginning last school year, this state law prohibits students from using personal communication devices during the instructional day while on school grounds. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, earbuds, and any other device capable of digital or telecommunication.
What This Means for Our Students
Students may bring personal communication devices to school, but they must be turned off, out of sight, and stored away in their backpack, pocket, laptop sleeve, or other personal belongings while on school grounds from the first bell to the end of the instructional day, including during class, passing periods, lunch, and recess.
The law requires disciplinary consequences for the use of personal communication devices during the instructional day while on school grounds. Exceptions are provided for students covered under a Section 504 plan or an Individualized Education Program (IEP) that includes personal communication devices as an accommodation. Access will be permitted as outlined in their individual plans.

Technology Device Responsibility Notice
As part of our commitment to providing students with access to modern learning tools, we issue devices to support their educational experience. These devices are covered under accidental damage protection; however, intentional damage will not be tolerated.
If a device is intentionally damaged by a student, families will be charged for the full cost of repairs or replacement. Please review the repair and replacement fees below to ensure transparency:

· Replacement of Chromebook Keyboard: $66.00
· Replacement of Chromebook Screen: $166.00

We appreciate your partnership in helping students understand the value of responsible device use. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Great Expectations
Here at Kreinhop, we implement the Great Expectations program and have been designated a Great Expectations Model School! We teach all students the eight expectations for living and 36 life principles. These expectations build character and increase academic success at school. Ask your child about them! Each week, he/she learns about a new life principle and reviewed the expectations.
Expectation #1:
We will value each other as unique and special individuals.
Expectation #2:
We will not laugh at or make fun of a person's mistakes nor use sarcasm or put downs.
Expectation #3:
We will use good manners, saying "please," "thank you," and "excuse me" and allow others to go first.
Expectation #4:
We will cheer each other to success.
Expectation #5:
We will help one another whenever possible.
Expectation #6:
We will recognize every effort and applaud it.
Expectation #7:
We will encourage each other to do our best.
Expectation #8:
We will practice virtuous living, using the Life Principles.
