Oak Crest Elementary Newsletter

Welcome to Oak Crest! We enjoyed seeing our amazing OC families last night at Meet the Teacher! Our new school hours are as follows:

Building opens: 8:20 am

School starts: 8:45 am

Dismissal: 3:30 pm

Please read below for information on arrival/dismissal procedures, Back-to-School Night, important calendar dates, and more! 🤩

A note from Ms. Early, Principal:

I am so blessed to be back! When I left after spring break I had an unknown neurological issue that made it hard for me to walk and move around. I have worked very hard through physical and occupational therapies to be able to walk again. I am so happy to be back, and I can't wait to see all of your amazing children tomorrow!

Please view the map below for Oak Crest arrival and dismissal information. You may also use this link for a printable version: Arrival/Dismissal Map

Please note students may not be dropped off before 8:20 am each morning, as there are not staff members on duty to supervise them.

***Please make sure NOT to park on Richmond St. as this blocks traffic. You will be asked to move if you park there.

Hello. I am so happy to be back for my 11th year at Oak Crest! In case we haven't met, my name is Kristi Summers and I am the School Counselor. I help support each and every student here at Oak Crest, in lots of ways:

• Monthly classroom lessons

• Lunch bunches

• Small groups for varying needs

• Short term individual counseling if needed

• Giving families resources as needed

Since the beginning of school brings about a lot of worrisome and exciting changes, I wanted to share some tips on how to talk to kids about change. (attachment)

I look forward to a great year with your students!

Please review the Broken Arrow Student Handbook to ensure you are aware of all of the procedures and policies at Oak Crest Elementary.
