I am so excited to be able to teach guidance lessons from the library all of next week! Iโll be able to connect and share with students while Becky and Lori keep the book fair going strong!
If Iโm not readily available for a student, you can always use this form to let me know someone needs to be seen. School Counselor Referral Request (It is also available on the landing page.)
The drive will run from Nov. 1st โ Nov. 15th.
Also attached is a flyer that we can start sharing with parents next week for our fall Food Drive.
We will be sharing all of the food brought in with local food pantries that are also great community partners when our own families are in need.
If you have any students in your classroom that you are concerned might be โfood insecureโ at home, please let Mrs. Ballard or Nurse Brandy know. Ballard can share contact information for local food pantries that are always happy to help families. Nurse B. can include students in the Food4Kids program that provides free snacks for students on a weekly basis.
2ND ANNUAL KAE IDIOM PARADE!
Itโs time to start preparing for our 2nd Annual KAE Idiom Parade! It will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, after announcements. As you know, understanding idioms helps our students be better conversationalists, readers, and writers!
Please read the Instructions for Teachers.
These are the instructions to be sent home to parents. Please send them home no later than October 11. They will be in your box by the end of the day today. They will be delivered to the homeroom teacher, but if you decide as a team to send it to the RLA teacher, that is your choice!
These are the signs each child will need to create for their idiom, if they choose to participate. They will hold up each sign for a picture, totaling two pictures per child.
One hot tip is to create a SignUp Genius (per homeroom or grade level) so the parents can fill out what idiom their child will represent, so you do not have too many repeats.
This is the folder where you will upload both pictures (per student) so we can make the slideshow and Kahoot for instructional use after Thanksgiving break.
Last year, the parade was a big hit! I canโt wait to do it again!
If you have questions, please ask the amazing Kara Coker.
Monthly Accommodation Reports
Reports are sent via email to teachers with student accommodations:
This monthly report is a compilation of all accommodations a student receives from MTSS, Section 504, Special Education, Dyslexia, Student Assessment Teams, and LPAC. It is important to understand that these accommodations originate from different systems and platforms. To streamline the process and reduce your workload, we consolidate this information into a single, accessible document at the beginning of each month.
It is crucial to understand that all accommodations listed, regardless of their source, are equally valid and must be implemented. Even if there appears to be a discrepancy or overlap between accommodations from different sources, all listed accommodations should be provided to the student.
No single source of accommodations supersedes another. Our goal is to ensure that each student receives the full spectrum of support they are entitled to, as determined by the respective committees. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring all students receive the support they need to succeed. Please continue to utilize the monthly email and online link to access student accommodation information.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the appropriate department (LPAC, MTSS, 504, SpEd) for assistance.
