How to Navigate your Gap Year
Choosing an unconventional life path might be difficult, but necessary for students. Perhaps they haven't found a post-secondary program that interests them, they don't have enough life experience or they want to work and save money to avoid student debt. It is critical to know that every path moves at a different speed, and that is okay! A gap year isn't a pause; it's a purposeful year of growth. Students can gain valuable skills at work, build confidence through travel, and experience clarity from having the space to think. A focus on experiences can help set boundaries rather than forcing timelines. CanGap offers sessions and events to support anyone taking that time to access their needs. Check out their resources and opportunities around Canada.

4. Consider starting with volunteer opportunities. These can be used to add to your resume, or may even open up a job that employers could create based on your contributions.
