Dear AAK Families,
We have several exciting updates to share with you as we continue to grow and evolve at AAK!
As of July 1st, I am honored to step into the role of Executive Director. In this new position, I will oversee school operations, campus expansion and construction, staffing, and the development of our new Principal. This transition is a part of our continued efforts to strengthen and support our school community.
After many thoughtful hours of collaboration, the AAK Principal Hiring Committee has selected an exceptional leader to carry our mission forward. We are thrilled to announce that Sharon Newman will be joining us as the new Principal of AAK! Over the past few months, Sharon has worked closely with our staff and has shown an unwavering commitment to our mission, vision, and to fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment for every student and family.
We also have several staffing updates to share:
We are adding an additional 5th grade class next year and are excited to welcome Mr. McFall to our team. Mr. McFall has supported AAK in various roles over the past five years, and we are thrilled to have him join our teaching staff.
We recently said goodbye to Mr. Marco, who has returned to Ecuador. He will be greatly missed by students and staff alike.
Spanish will continue as a specials class next year, and we are excited to have Ms. Gloriana step into this role.
Ms. DeJane has decided to pursue a new opportunity at another school and will not be returning next year. Her contributions to our community have been invaluable, and she will be deeply missed. We are excited to welcome Mr. Gollob to our 3rd grade team! He brings hands-on learning experience and a strong ability to connect with students.
Ms. Behm will be relocating from Fort Collins to pursue new life opportunities. Her dedication as a Kindergarten teacher has been truly appreciated. Mrs. Hyde will be moving from 2nd grade to join Ms. Hall and Bentley in creating an outstanding Kindergarten experience.
We are currently interviewing candidates for our 2nd grade position and look forward to sharing updates soon.
Transitions are never easy, especially when it means saying goodbye to incredible staff members. However, we embrace these moments as opportunities to grow and evolve together. We’re excited to welcome new members into the AAK family and will continue to keep you updated as we move forward.
