Afterschool Enrichment and Intervention

We are hoping to kick off a few more after school enrichments in the month of November.

Ms. Ramirez, and Ms. Perez will be hosting a "ESPORTS" where students will engage with Minecraft Classroom and compete in the district's Level Up competition. We will be selecting 3rd-5th graders with good attendance (because attendance matters for participation) and students who can both work independently and collaboratively to create, communicate, and think critically on how to problem solve. If you get an invitation, please be sure to sign it and return immediately to reserve your spot. Space is limited. Classes are tentatively scheduled for Mondays/Wednesdays from 2:30-3:40. Detailed information will be sent to students invited for our November start.

With the support of Mrs. Riley-Smith, we will also hoping to kick off chorus soon! We are looking for 20 students in grades 2-5 who love to sing and would love to be a part of the Multnomah Chorus. You will be performing for our Winter Program and Art Fest. If you love to sing and are not shy about doing so, tell your teacher to nominate you to be a part of chorus. We will be sending home invitation letters soon. Classes are tentatively schedule for Tuesdays from 1:30-2:30. More information forthcoming. Get your vocal cords ready.

In addition to chorus, we are also gearing up for a Ukelele Club with happy strummers. Same deal. We are hoping students will be ready to perform by the Winter Program. If not, we will carve out some time during a morning assembly, but definitely during our annual Art Fest. If you would love to strum with the soon to be newly anointed ukelele club, tell your teacher to nominate you. From the nominations of 2nd-5th grade students, we will select 20 from the pool. We are looking for responsible students who have great attendance and will be responsible in bringing their ukeleles on Tuesday to class and back home to practice. Classes are tentatively scheduled for Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30.

And as you know, our Dance Team is already in full gear with Mrs. D. Gonzalez and Ms. Jennifer at the helm. They are already planning to be a part of local parades to represent Multnomah and are busy working on choreography to showcase their talents and encourage our school spirit!

And finally, we will be rolling out our Math and ELA intervention as well. If you get an invitation letter, that means we have been analyzing your data and it is highly recommended that you attend to push you over to the next achievement band. We want all EAGLES to be academically successful! Let us help you.

California Honor Roll California Honor Roll

Congratulations to Multnomah for once again making it on the ERP's California Honor Roll List! This is the eleventh year that ERP has awarded the Honor Roll, which recognizes top public schools, school districts and charter schools that have outperformed their peers in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations. Way to go EAGLES!

Final Call for Fall Fest Support Final Call for Fall Fest Support

We currently do not have enough volunteer. Please take a look to see if you have 30 minutes to spare so we don't have to cancel our annual tradition. Only processed volunteers who have attended Ms. Dana's training can work the booths during 2:30-4:00. If you are not a processed volunteer, you can still help with the set up and clean up. Check out the form here. https://forms.gle/WgogFmZcMEyamhx49.

If we have our Fall Festival, there will be no valet services that day. Park your car and come join us for a little bit to get into the Fall spirit and hang out with some friends and families. There will be games and food.

Multnomah Store Multnomah Store

Ms. Jennifer opened the library aka Multnomah Store this past Wednesday and students were able to spend the Multnomah Money they've been collecting. Many students choose to save some of their money instead of spending it all. Great job Eagles!

Fall Photos Fall Photos

Check your child's backpacks! Fall Photos should have been given to your child today (Friday, 10/10). If you ordered any gift items, those might come at a later date. If your child did not order in time for picture day, they were given a sheet of paper with their image along with a code should you want to order now.

Suicide Awareness and Prevention Suicide Awareness and Prevention

Last week during Coffee with the Principal we discuss the very important topic of suicide awareness and prevention. Watch the parent video below to make sure you are aware and can look for signs of trouble and where to go for help.

iReady Challenge iReady Challenge

Are you keeping up with your iReady? In our internal data collecting, we have found that our students who are consistently completing their iReady assignments and scoring 80% or above are well on their way to meeting and exceeding grade level standards. Please monitor your child to ensure they are not just letting the clock run but really working to complete the task. We want students to gain academic progress from the platform, not try to outsmart the system.
