We had a wonderful week of volunteering at NCAL and at the Cambridge community lunch. At NCAL Warren Larned and Max Cota knocked it out of the park by restocking the dog food for the community pet food pantry, sweeping the lobby, folding laundry, and playing with a sweet puppy. At the April community lunch, Stella Dauth, Skylar Hutchins, and Lauren Marcelino instantly became servers after a quick overview of their responsibilities. They danced around the dining room as if they were professionals.
Great job everyone and thank you for stepping up to help your community!
Wishing all of our staff, students, and families a wonderful vacation.
See you soon!

Learning In Action
Mark your calendars!
The CES 5th and 6th grade drama club invites you to join them for a production of "Newsies Jr"! Over 40 students, staff, and volunteers have been working to make this production a reality over the past several months. Join them to follow an inspiring story about a group of newsboys living in turn-of-the-century New York City who work to fight for what's right.
Performances will be taking place on Thursday April 30th and Friday May 1st at 6PM in the CES Gym!
A Note From Future CES Principal Kim Lesny
Dear CES Families and Community Members,
I am truly excited and honored to be joining your school as principal for the upcoming school year. From everything I've learned so far, it's clear this is a caring and connected community, and I feel very grateful for the opportunity to be part of it.
Over the coming weeks and throughout the summer, I'm looking forward to getting to know many of you - hearing your hopes for your children, learning about what makes this community so special, and beginning to build strong relationships. Partnering with families is incredibly important to me, and I believe that working together is key to supporting every student's success.
Thank you for the warm welcome I've already felt. I'm excited for the year ahead and all that we will accomplish together in support of your children.
Warm regards,
Kim Lesny
Future CES Principal!

Feeling the Winter Blues? You’re Not Alone.
Winter can feel heavy - shorter days, colder weather, less time outside, and changes in routine can affect mood and energy. It’s normal to notice shifts in how you’re feeling during this time of year.
Some signs to watch for include:
- Feeling more tired than usual
- Losing interest in things you usually enjoy
- Feeling down, irritable, or disconnected
- Sleeping more (or less) than usual
- Wanting to isolate or withdraw from others
If these feelings last more than a couple of weeks, or start to interfere with school, friendships, or daily life, it’s important to reach out. Talking with a trusted adult, school counselor, coach, or friend can make a real difference.
Small things can help too - staying connected, getting outside when possible, keeping a routine, and doing something kind for yourself or someone else. You don’t have to handle it alone.
Sharing Priority
Cambridge Area Rotary – Bike for Friends Program: This collaborative community program connects gently used high-end bicycles with individuals who may not otherwise have access to them.
Donating a Bike: Those with gently used, high-quality bicycles they no longer need can
contribute to this meaningful community initiative.
Each BFF recipient will also receive a new bike helmet!
Individuals or families in need of a bike or bikes are encouraged to reach out to learn about available options and the application process.
No questions are asked about income levels.
On behalf of recipients, social service agencies, case managers, youth leaders, educators, and the like are encouraged to make requests too!
