Dear HES Caregivers,
The staff and I are filled with excitement as we get ready to welcome students back for the 2025–2026 school year! Here are a few important updates and reminders:
-
Wednesday, August 27 – Join us for our annual PTO Back-to-School Ice Cream Social on the playground from 3:00–5:00 pm. The building will be open for walk-throughs, but classrooms will not be available for visits.
-
New School Hours – Our day now runs from 7:45 am to 2:15 pm, with a 1:35 pm dismissal on Early Release Days. Students may enter the building starting at 7:35 am. Thank you for helping us with smooth and prompt arrivals and dismissals.
-
Reach My Teach – Please see the information below for how to use this tool to communicate directly with your child’s teacher.
-
PTO Calendar – Information about accessing the calendar of school events is also included below.
We can’t wait to fill our halls with Sharks and their caregivers! It’s going to be a terrific school year, and we’re so glad you’re part of it. Look for this newsletter in your inbox every Friday afternoon throughout the school year.
Warm regards,
Christie Cutone

Call the Attendance Line If Your Shark Is Absent
Per the handbook, if your child is unable to attend school, please enter the absence in PickUp Patrol and/or call our designated attendance line, 617-848-0115, as early as possible. Soon after arrival, our office staff begins to call the caregivers of absent students if we haven't already heard from them. This is important, as we want to ensure that all students are safe. Your phone message with the reason for the absence is all we need. While an email to the teacher is helpful, it sometimes doesn't make its way to the office staff. Thank you for your help!
