Dear Families,

I hope you are having a great week. Thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend our 0-3 art show. We have incredibly creative little ones. It was exciting to see all of their works of love.

Today, our Pre-K students got to visit their kindergarten home schools. The students were super excited and eager. They are ready! We are gearing up for Field Day. We are seeking donations for bottled water and student-friendly snacks. All donations can be dropped off at the front desk. Thank you for your support.

Have a great weekend,

Principal Garland

Scenes from the Art Show

The Art Show was spectacular this year! Thank you to all the families who came to honor our young artists. They were so proud of their work and could not wait to show it off. Thank you to all the 0-3 teachers who worked so hard to put on such a beautiful show. See some photos below.

K-2 school visit

Pre-K students had an exciting morning. Buses picked up our students this morning and delivered them to Winnona Park, Oakhurst, Clairemont, Glennwood, and Westchester to tour the schools and visit Kindergarten classrooms.

It's a dance party! Ms. Lauren's last music class of the year was fun for all ages. Ms. Tori's class definitely got into the groove.

Library News

Pre-K students finished Evergreen by Matthew Cordell this week. There were lots of surprises, and we brainstormed some ideas for how to continue the story with new adventures for our little squirrel, the main character. Pre-K will visit the library two more times this school year; our last class will be Monday, May 11.

Please remind your child to bring back their library book on Monday so they can check out a new one. Thanks for your support!

Staff Appreciation Week

Please join us in celebrating the wonderful teachers and staff who make our school so special! We have a full week planned next week, May 4 through May 8, with ways you can join the fun. The theme for the week is “We are bucket fillers!”

The PTO will provide a bucket for every staff member. Teachers’ buckets will be located in their classrooms. All supporting staff members will have buckets near the entrance of the school.

You are invited to pick one day from the schedule and bring items to place in your teachers’ and any staff members’ buckets to show your gratitude.

  • MONDAY - A Sweet Start. Bring treats and yummy snacks.

  • TUESDAY - Say it with Flowers. Bring in flowers, plants, garden/flower-themed crafts, cards, and gifts.

  • WEDNESDAY - Wellness Wednesday. Bring spa, wellness, and relaxation-themed items.

  • THURSDAY - Words of Affirmation. Bring heartfelt notes, cards, or inspirational quotes.

  • FRIDAY - Class Gifts. These will be purchased and delivered by room parents on behalf of the class.

The PTO is providing cookies for the staff on Monday and a catered lunch on Friday.

Send any questions to CollegeHeightsPTO@gmail.com.

Kids Ages 5-13 Invited to Register for Decatur WatchFest 26 3v3 Soccer Tournament

Decatur Soccer invites youth ages 5-13 (rising K-8th grade) to register for its 3v3 Soccer Tournament, powered by Decatur WatchFest 26, a fun, flexible, and community-focused event led by DHS soccer players and coaches. Join us Saturday, June 20, 8:30 a.m.-noon at the Decatur High School Stadium with plenty of parking and just a short walk from the Decatur MARTA Station and Decatur WatchFest.

Kids can form a team of up to five players and sign up at the link below for just $75 per team (payable separately via GoFan). With no uniforms required (pennies provided) and small-sided 3v3 match play run by our DHS players, this format keeps things simple while maximizing touches, engagement, and fun for every player.
