The Life Skill of The Week is βFriendship: To make and keep friends through mutual trust and caring.β Are you a good friend? Being a good friend means showing kindness, caring, and treating everyone with respect - following the Golden Rule. The best friends are good listeners, dependable, helpful, trustworthy, understanding, and, of course, fun to be around!
This week, challenge yourself to be the kind of friend you would like to have. Include someone who may feel left out, offer a helping hand, share a smile, and show others that you care. Remember: To have a good friend, you must first be a good friend! Have a wonderful week filled with kindness, laughter, and friendship!
8th Grade Religion - Chi-Rho
In Unit 1, our 8th Grade Religion class learned an important lesson: every person is valued, important, and an essential part of the Church! As part of their studies, students learned about the Chi-Rho, an ancient Christian symbol formed by the Greek letters βXβ and βP,β representing Christos, the Greek word for Christ. Father Simon shared that the Chi-Rho can be found embroidered on the priests vestments that are worn during the Easter season. To bring the lesson to life, each student created a Chi-Rho and placed a mirror at its centerβa beautiful reminder that the person looking back in the mirror is part of the Church! Their individual creations now surround a larger group Chi-Rho, symbolizing how each of us comes together as one faith-filled community in Christ.
