TEAM QUITMAN

As we begin another exciting school year, I want to extend a warm welcome to every student, parent, and member of the Quitman ISD family. In the coming days, more than 1,200 students will fill our classrooms, hallways, and campuses with energy, excitement, and the promise of a new beginning. Whether your child is starting Pre-K, entering kindergarten, or preparing for graduation, we are honored to be a part of their educational journey.

To our parents and families, thank you for entrusting us with your children. We recognize the importance of that responsibility and are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. Your partnership is essential to our success, and we encourage you to stay involved, communicate with our staff, and celebrate the accomplishments of your child throughout the year.

At Quitman ISD, our focus extends far beyond the classroom. While academic excellence remains a priority, we are equally committed to developing character, leadership, and the skills students need to succeed in college, careers, and life. Everything we do is guided by our mission: Educating Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day.

We are looking forward to an incredible year filled with learning, growth, and Bulldog pride. Thank you for being part of Team Quitman. Together, we will make the 2026–2027 school year our best yet.

Safety and Security Updates

Dear Quitman ISD Parents, Guardians, and Students,

On behalf of the Quitman Independent School District, welcome to a new school year! We are excited to have our students back in our classrooms and look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and success.

At Quitman ISD, the safety and security of every student, staff member, and visitor remains our highest priority. Our goal is to provide a safe, secure, and welcoming learning environment where every student can thrive.

Throughout the year, our district will continue to implement a comprehensive safety and security program that includes:

  • Secure campus entrances with visitor screening and identification procedures.
  • Trained School Guardians and security personnel strategically assigned throughout the district.
  • Strong partnerships with local law enforcement, fire, EMS, and emergency management agencies.
  • Regular safety drills, including fire, severe weather, lockdown, secure, evacuate, and shelter procedures, in accordance with state requirements.
  • Continuous monitoring through security cameras, controlled access systems, and district communications.
  • Emergency response plans that are regularly reviewed, updated, and practiced with staff and first responders.
  • Ongoing safety training for faculty and staff to ensure they are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Anonymous reporting options for students and parents to report safety concerns, suspicious activity, or potential threats.

Security is a shared responsibility. We ask every member of our school community to help by following campus procedures, wearing visitor badges when required, reporting suspicious behavior, and encouraging students to speak up if they see or hear something concerning. Working together helps us maintain the safe environment our students deserve.

Parents can also support our efforts by ensuring emergency contact information remains current, following campus check-in and checkout procedures, and remaining patient during safety drills or emergency situations. While some procedures may occasionally cause delays or inconvenience, they are designed to protect everyone on our campuses.

Our commitment extends beyond physical security. We are dedicated to fostering a positive school climate where students feel safe, respected, connected, and supported each day they walk through our doors.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. Together, we will make this another outstanding and safe school year at Quitman ISD.

Staying Connected with Quitman ISD

At Quitman ISD, we are committed to providing families with timely, accurate, and meaningful communication. Our Communications and Media Specialist works closely with each campus and district leadership to ensure information is shared through the appropriate channels.

Our Facebook pages are primarily used to celebrate the incredible things happening across our district. You will find student achievements, classroom highlights, athletic and extracurricular successes, staff spotlights, event photos, and other positive stories that showcase the great things happening in Quitman ISD. We understand that not every family uses social media; therefore, we strive to limit the amount of critical information shared exclusively through this platform.

Our district call-out system (phone calls, text messages, and emails) is reserved for important district and campus updates. This includes emergency notifications, weather-related closures or delays, safety information, schedule changes, and other time-sensitive announcements that require immediate attention or that might otherwise be overlooked on social media.

To ensure you never miss critical information, please keep your contact details current. If your phone number, email address, or mailing address changes, notify your child's campus office as soon as possible so your information can be updated in our student information system.

Our district website is used for essential information throughout the school year. Visit www.quitmanisd.net to access district and campus news, calendars, school board information, staff directories, employment opportunities, meal menus, forms, and much more. We encourage families to check the website regularly to stay informed about everything happening at Quitman ISD.

If you have questions about district communications, media requests, or our social media platforms, please feel free to contact:
