COLT FAMILY NEWS
October 19, 2026
Dear CPCS Families,
We're looking forward to another fun-filled week! This Saturday, we hope you’ll join us at school for our Fall Festival, hosted and organized by the CIA. The Class of 2028 will be featuring a Color Run and in the afternoon there will be a Trunk-or-Treat. It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring our school community together, enjoy some fall fun, and make memories with friends and family. We hope to see lots of familiar faces there!
A big thank-you to the parents and family members who volunteered as chaperones for last week’s COLTS Day at The Wild Center! These experiences give our students opportunities to learn, explore, and connect with the world beyond the classroom, and we appreciate everyone who helps make them possible. We’re looking forward to the remaining COLTS Days this month and are always grateful for additional chaperones. If you’re able to join us for an upcoming trip, simply click the link below to sign up. Your time and support make a difference!
Thank you for being such an important part of our CPCS community. We hope you have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Emily McGregor

Gr. 3 - 6 COLTS Day
Students enjoyed a fun-filled day at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake! They explored the outdoor trails in search of the larger-than-life Trolls from TROLLS: Save the Humans, discovered ways to protect and care for our natural world, and explored the hands-on museum exhibits featuring live animals. Through their adventures indoors and outdoors, students learned more about the environment and what it means to be a good steward of the Earth. Everyone earned a Junior Naturalist patch to celebrate their discoveries and accomplishments!
School Health Requirements
Our school nurse has shared important information for families regarding required health examinations, immunizations, medications, and student health screenings for the 2026–27 school year. Please review the full letter below and reach out to our school nurse, Kim Distasio, with any questions.

IMPORTANT NOTES
ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY
High school students who are identified as academically ineligible must schedule a time each week to stay after school with the teacher(s) of the course(s) they are currently failing, from 2:45 pm - 3:15 pm. Teachers will update eligibility weekly for students who meet this requirement. Students who do not attend their scheduled support sessions will remain ineligible to participate in sports, extracurricular activities, and school dances. Academic eligibility is reviewed and reset every five weeks when progress reports and quarterly report cards are issued. We encourage families to check in with their students regularly and help them stay on track with their academic progress and eligibility requirements.

The yearbook is now being created by a company called Treering. Ordering will be completed through the company rather than through the school. If you order early, there is a 10% discount on the $38.00 purchase price. As well as the wonderfully low price, each person who orders has two “custom pages” they can create that can highlight his/her child/children. Take advantage of this great opportunity!
