Happy November, Tamarack Families!

It's hard to believe that the first trimester has already come to an end! We are so proud of how much our students have grown and all the hard work they’ve put into their learning. Their curiosity, kindness, and enthusiasm continue to inspire us each and every day.

As we welcome the month of November, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for our amazing Tamarack community. This time of year reminds us to pause and reflect on what we’re thankful for which is our dedicated staff, our supportive families and our wonderful students who make Tamarack such a special place to learn and grow.

November is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month! We’ll be celebrating learning in many ways through classroom projects, fall activities and upcoming family events. Please take a few moments to review the important dates and reminders in this newsletter so you don’t miss any opportunities to stay connected and engaged.

November we will continue our monthly Attendance Incentive Challenge. Our goal is 97% or higher for attendance each and every day. Please make sure your students arrive on time each day and are ready to learn. Classes have a chance to win each week. It is a Class Effort!

When picking up and dropping off students, please drive with extreme caution, follow the signs and staff directions, and watch for children. Do not leave your vehicle at anytime empty in the pick up line to walk onto campus to pick up your child.

Should you park and leave your vehicle in the areas that are marked NO Parking Red Zones, you are subject to citations from law enforcement.

All students will have access to breakfast and lunch for free on campus. Important Updates: Breakfast is now served in the cafeteria beginning at 7:35. It is important that students arrive on time.

Students who walk and ride their bikes/skateboard to school are required to obey all traffic rules and use crosswalks. Children must cross streets at the intersections or at marked crossings. Riders must wear helmets and walk their bicycle or skateboard as soon as they come on campus. If a bike or skateboard is ridden to school, it should be parked and locked in the bicycle rack area. Electric bikes/scooters are not allowed anywhere on campus in order to stay in compliance with California Vehicle Code Section 21235(D). The school is not responsible for vandalized or stolen bicycles.

We are excited to announce that we are continuing with ParentSquare our school-to-home communication platform. This unified communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with our school and the district. It provides a safe way for district administrators, school principals, teachers, staff, and parents to:

• Send and receive school and class information

• Share pictures and files

• See calendar items

• Sign up to volunteer

• Schedule parent-teacher conferences

• and much more . . . all in one centralized place!

All district, school, grade level and classroom information will be sent to your computer or phone via email and/or text. For even more convenience, download the ParentSquare app (available for free for iOS and Android devices).

Smile! Picture Retake Day is happening this month November 13th at Tamarack Elementary. Don’t miss the chance to capture this special moment in your child’s school year. Please use the code below.

Important: This date is designated for students that were absent for our original picture date on October 17th.

We can’t wait to see our students needing picture retakes who were absent bright smiles! 😄

Please join us for Donuts with Grown-Ups! Enjoy donuts with your child before their day starts Friday November 14th in the Tamarack Cafeteria. Parents must be present with students. All Tamarack families are welcome.

The season of gratitude is here! Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to reflect on what we’re thankful for and celebrate the spirit of togetherness within our school community. To spread that Thanksgiving cheer, Tamarack Elementary will be celebrating Thanksgiving Spirit Dress-Up Week from November 17th-21st. Each day, students and staff are invited to participate in themed dress-up days that celebrate thankfulness, kindness, and school spirit.

Let’s come together as a Tamarack family to share gratitude, show our creativity, and make this week a fun and festive celebration for all!

We’re excited to announce that Family Art Night, hosted in partnership with PSA Arts, is coming to Tamarack Elementary on Tuesday November 18th at 5:30pm in the Tamarack Cafeteria! Families are invited to join us for an evening of creativity, connection and fun as we explore the joy of art together.

During this special event, students and their families will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on art activities led by PSA Arts teacher Ms. O'toole. Families will be able to create their own masterpieces and enjoy a night full of imagination and inspiration.

This is a wonderful way to celebrate the arts, spend quality time as a family and make lasting memories within our Tamarack community.

Tamarack Elementary will be closed for Thanksgiving Break from Monday November 24th through Friday November 28th.

We hope all our students and families enjoy a safe, restful and joyful holiday week with loved ones.
School will resume on Monday December 1st.
