Benton Weekly Update

Early Dismissal 1:15 • Parent Conferences • The Great Shake Out • 6th Grade Camp
Students are out every day this week, including Wednesday, at 1:15pm for Parent Conference Week.
Teachers are available for conferences from 1:15-3:00pm each day. Most teachers are using Calendly to schedule conferences. Links to schedule individual conferences can be found here.
Our 6th Graders will be leaving on Monday for Outdoor Science School (science camp) and a great week of learning up near Lake Arrowhead.
October is Bullying Prevention Month and an important event is Unity Day on Wednesday, October 16th. Unity Day is when students pledge to stand up and speak out against bullies. It's a good time to focus on our actions and think about our words. We all need to remember that words matter, and choose wisely.
We have a Dine Out Fundraiser at Panera this week on Monday. Be sure to use the code FUND4U at check out and 25% of your sale is donated back to Benton.
Our Benton PTSA will have a trunk at the LMHS Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, October 30th, and are seeking donations of candy. If you are able to donate a bag or 2 of Halloween candy, please drop it off at the school office.
Parents and students have been asking, YES, we will have a costume contest at school on Halloween (at lunchtime). All costumes must adhere to school dress code guidelines (graphic posted below!) and students cannot wear full-face masks, full face make up, or carry any costume weapons.
Please join me in celebrating our Students of the Month for September; these Wolverines were selected by the teachers for consistently demonstrating Benton P.R.I.D.E., Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence. Well done, Wolverines!
Make it a great week!
