The WCISD Band Program spread holiday cheer with its annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 9, featuring performances by the Beginner Band, Intermediate Band, and the Proud Pack Varsity Band.

The Beginner Band, made up entirely of sixth-grade students, impressed the audience with 6-Note Sleigh Ride and First Winter’s Suite—especially remarkable considering they’ve only been playing since late August.

Seventh-grade students in the Intermediate Band, some of whom joined the program this year, performed Deck the Holidays and Christmas Race, showcasing their growth and dedication over just a year of learning their instruments.

The Proud Pack Varsity Band transitioned seamlessly from marching season into preparing their holiday repertoire, performing favorites like Silver Bells, The Polar Express, Silent Night, and 3-Minute Nutcracker. Adding to the excitement, the Varsity Band also represented WCISD in the Wolfe City Christmas Parade on December 13.

This season’s concert highlighted the talent, hard work, and holiday spirit of all WCISD band students

Led by Theatre Director Lyndi Butler and Assistant Director Kajsa Keane, this fun and meaningful collaboration showcased our students’ talent, teamwork, and holiday spirit—and highlighted just how special our fine arts and CTE programs truly are.

James has been a school board member since 2023. In addition to serving on the school board, James has worked in many fields throughout his career, including as a butcher, an electrician, and now as an assistant project manager. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors—whether cooking on the grill or working on projects for his family. One of his greatest joys is watching his children in everything they do, from sports and band to academic activities.

His favorite holiday is the 4th of July, when he makes it his goal to outdo the fireworks show from the year before. James is a member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City and is deeply rooted in the community.

As a school board member, James is steady, thoughtful, and always student-centered. He listens carefully, asks meaningful questions, and genuinely cares about the success of every student. His leadership is quiet and reserved, but he leads with heart and wisdom. Above all, James fiercely loves his wife, Lindsey, and his family, and they remain at the center of everything he does.
