Preparing all Students for Lifelong Success: Teacher Development Days Set the Tone for 2025-26
Levy Spotlight: Music and Smiles Welcome HMS & HHS Students Back to School
Being a small district allows Hockinson school communities to create memorable traditions, such as the Fire District 3 spraydown for 5th graders and senior car parade for HHS graduates. Another is the red carpet welcome and live music on the first day of school! While Buzz the Hornet added to the first day energy at HHES, HMS and HHS Bands set the tone for the 2025-26 school year by kicking off the morning with energy that had their classmates smiling as they walked onto campus. This first-day tradition would not be the same without our amazing student musicians who help bring it to life.
Music programs in Hockinson School District are supported by local EP&O levy funding approved by voters in 2022.
Budget Bite: Hockinson Schools Save Energy and Taxpayer Dollars Through Efficiency Upgrades
Since 2019, Hockinson School District has saved about 1.35 million kilowatt hours of energy through Strategic Energy Management and HVAC efficiency upgrades! (Pictured: New rooftop HVAC unit being lifted into place at HHES in June 2025.) These projects are supported by grants, public utilities incentives, and voter-approved EP&O levy funds. Read more here.
On average, electricity costs have increased by 37% since 2018 in Washington state. Energy costs are just one example of the impact that inflation has had on school district budgets.
Paving the Way to Enroll, Enlist, or Enter the Workforce: HHS Expands College in the High School Options for 2025–26
Hockinson High School has added 5 NEW dual-credit College in the High School (CiHS) classes to the school’s suite of rigorous CiHS, Advanced Placement (AP), and Honors courses. Click here to view all CiHS and AP course offerings.
These opportunities prepare students for lifelong learning at college and in the workforce. Tuition-free CiHS courses are made possible through state funding and AP courses are supported by local levy funding. Thank you, Hockinson voters!
