CAO's Message
Small Community. Big Possibilities.
As Chief Academic Officer, I get to see the great things happening across Irvington Community Schools and there is so much worth sharing! From our elementary classrooms to our middle and high school, our staff work every day to help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and discover what they can accomplish.
At ICS, we know that students need both encouragement and meaningful academic challenges. Our teachers use student data to plan instruction, provide targeted support, and identify the next steps for learning. Our focused work in reading is showing encouraging progress as students close skill gaps and strengthen their literacy foundations. We are bringing that same commitment to our next steps in math.
Behind that work are people who care deeply. Our teachers, support staff, and building leaders invest time, creativity, and heart into helping students succeed. They celebrate growth, help students navigate challenges, and partner with families to keep students moving forward.
That is what makes ICS special: a community committed to helping children grow as learners and as people.
If you are exploring schools for your child, we invite you to get to know Irvington Community Schools. Come meet our team, visit our classrooms, and see the possibilities for your family.

School Highlights
ICES- Small Boats, Big Discoveries!
Our second graders are putting science into action! As they study matter, students are using different materials to design and build boats, then testing how much weight their creations can hold while floating in water. This hands-on challenge brings learning to life as students explore the properties of materials, solve problems, and discover how their design choices affect their results. Curiosity and creativity are setting sail at ICS!
ICMS-Tea with the Team is Back!
As many of you know, our assistant Principal Mr. Dunner has been called to lead our elementary school. Because Mr. Dunner is a wrestling fan, we couldn't just give him a boring goodbye. No, this man deserves a proper championship send-off! Mr. Dunner’s time at ICMS has been a little like a wrestling match. He’s faced unexpected plot twists, plenty of drama, and some heavyweight battles over hallway behavior, cell phones, and bathroom passes! At our family meeting on Wednesday we officially declared him the Undisputed Champion of ICMS!
Mr. Dunner, Thank you for everything you've done for our students, our staff, and our school. We wish you the very best in your next championship run at ICES!
IPA- College GO! Spirit Week
IPA will be celebrating College GO! Week this week! In addition to some fun & spirited activities in advisory, IPA Ravens are invited to dress for each day’s Spirit Week Theme!
Monday> Haunted Hats/Hats Off To Your Future: Wear the school appropriate hat of their choice. Hats may not cover their face and must be removed during class if they are a distraction/interfere with instruction.
Tuesday> Terrifying Team Spirit Tuesday: Show off your team spirit by wearing gear for their favorite collegiate team.
Wednesday> Wicked Work Wednesday/Dress for Future You: Dress for the profession you hope to have someday.
Thursday> Dreams & Screams/Follow Your Dreams: Wear your favorite school appropriate pajamas to school as you dream of all your future holds.
