ACT Planning
Hello 11th grade students,
ACT pre-registration must be completed prior to testing day. During pre-registration, students may choose to send their ACT scores to up to four postsecondary institutions at no cost.
Pre-registration will take place during the week of March 2nd. Students should bring a fully charged Chromebook and a personal (non-school) email address.
Please do not use your school email. A personal email is required to ensure continued access to ACT scores after graduation.
Thank you for taking this important step toward college and career readiness!
Our testing date is Tuesday, March 10th.
π¨ Student Art Show
The Sun Prairie West Art Department would like to invite you to our annual Spring Student Art Show, which will be on display in the Commons through the end of March. A reception for families to view the show will be held on Wednesday, March 11th from 5-6:30 PM. We hope you can stop by and support our student artists!
π Busing
Message from Kobussen: To ensure everyone is on the right route (and eligible to ride), drivers are asking students to show their transportation information on their phones.
Please encourage your child to take a screenshot of their transportation page in IC and keep it on their device, or be able to access it quickly in IC for the drivers.
π Arrival & Dismissal Safety Reminders
Keeping our students safe is our top priority. Please review these important procedures carefully:
π Drop Off & Pick Up Lane
ALL parents/caregivers must use the designated drop off/pick up lane located on the outside of the student parking lot.
Using other areas to avoid the line creates serious safety concerns. Please allow extra time in the morning and afternoon so you are not rushed.
π« Do NOT drop off in:
-
The bus lane
-
The student parking lot
We will be monitoring these areas closely.
π Bus Lane & Student Parking = No Parent Drop Off
Over the past two years, families have used the bus lane and student lot to bypass the drop off line.
β οΈ This creates SIGNIFICANT safety risks for students and staff.
Please help us keep everyone safe by using only the designated lane.
βΏ Respect Disabled Parking β 24/7
Accessible parking spaces are reserved for individuals with disabilities at all times.
π« Do NOT:
-
Park in disabled spaces without authorization
-
Block these spaces while waiting
These actions prevent students and families with disabilities from safely arriving and leaving.
π« Ticketing will be enforced.
π ΏοΈ Student Parking Requirements
Students must:
-
Have a current student parking registration
-
Park ONLY in the designated student lot
Students parked in:
-
Staff lots (front of building)
-
Athletic side lots
-
Visitor or staff spaces
will be ticketed.
π Fire Lane β Emergency Use Only
The fire lane behind the school is NOT a shortcut.
π« No driving around the building through the fire lane.
π Beginning August 26 - Gates will be closed on school days from 7:00amβ4:00pm.
π West Side Circle Drive
The circle drive on the west side of the building is RESERVED for specialized transportation only.
When other vehicles use this space for drop off or pick up, it creates a significant safety hazard for students with disabilities who rely on specialized transportation.
Please respect this reserved area.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe and accessible for everyone!

Music
The Concert Band had a special guest this week. River is a Sun Prairie child who was born with a limb difference. They have been working with a young composer to bring her story to life. The piece Limbitless was written for her! This past Thursday River came in and heard her piece for the first time. She shared what it felt like to have a limb difference and to advocate all across the state for other kids like her. Riverβs piece will be premiered in public at the Band Concert on March 5th.

π© In Case You Missed It
Dear Sun Prairie West High School Students, Parents, and Caregivers,
We are writing to provide an update on the hiring process for the next principal of Sun Prairie West High School. The position will be posted this week, and our goal is to recommend a candidate to the Board of Education this spring.
To identify and select the best candidate, we are designing a multi-round interview process that will take place in the coming weeks.
Your perspective is invaluable in this process. We invite you to complete a brief survey to share your thoughts and provide input into the hiring process. Additionally, the survey includes an option to express interest in joining our interview teams, which are tentatively scheduled for April 3rd and April 7th during school hours. Please note that, depending on the number of interested students, parents, and caregivers, we may be unable to accommodate all who volunteer. Invitations for selected participants will be sent in March. We are also planning for a community session open to all interested during the evening of April 7th.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We appreciate your support as we work together to hire the next leader of Sun Prairie West High School.
Best regards,
Dr. Sarah Chaja-Clardy
Director of Secondary - Teaching, Learning, and Equity
