Hello, Ranger Families!

We are off to a fantastic start to the school year! Our students have quickly settled into their routines, are building positive relationships, and are already demonstrating a commitment to learning. We are so grateful for the partnership and support of our families during these first few weeks of school.

As we move into September, we also recognize Attendance Awareness Month. Regular school attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Every day counts, and being present helps students stay connected, build confidence, and make the most of their learning opportunities. Thank you for helping us make attendance a priority and ensuring your child is at school, on time, and ready to learn each day!

We look forward to a wonderful month ahead! 🍎📚✨

Thank you for your ongoing support—together, we make our school community stronger!

In partnership,

Stephani Grisham

Timber Ridge ES Principal

Safe and Courteous Driving at Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up

For the safety of all students, please remember to drive slowly and follow all traffic directions during drop-off and pick-up.

Remember, parent drop-off is in the back only. If you are walking your child to the door, please use the inner lane of the parent drop-off. Avoid triple parking or stopping in active lanes, as this creates unsafe conditions and delays for others.

Your patience and courtesy help keep everyone safe and ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Thank you for your cooperation and care for our school community!

Cafeteria Visitors

We love welcoming families to join their children for lunch! To ensure a safe and orderly environment for all students, we ask that visiting parents remain at the designated parent tables and not approach student lines or other student tables. Instead, an adult working in the cafeteria can assist you in getting your student to join you at the table. These procedures are necessary to help us maintain security, protect student privacy, and keep the cafeteria running smoothly for everyone.

Additionally, at no time should visitors leave the cafeteria with their child. If parents want to sign out their student, they need to let the student return to class. The parent will go to the office to sign out the student and have the child called to the office. Please do not go to the classrooms.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep our school safe and organized

Military and Family Life Counselor

Hello Timber Ridge Families!

My name is Glori Sommerer, and I am the Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC) here at Timber Ridge ES. I’m very excited to be part of the Timber Ridge community and look forward to getting to know and supporting our military-connected students and families this school year.

As the MFLC, I am here to provide extra support for students with things such as adjusting to school, deployment and separation, reunion adjustment, communication with parents and siblings, behavioral concerns, fears, grief, and loss. This program is available at no cost and is designed to support military children and youth through some of the unique challenges that can come with military life.

I have provided consent forms to all of the teachers, so you should see one coming home in your child’s folder soon. If you do not receive one and would like your child to participate, please reach out to your child’s teacher and they will let me know.

I’m looking forward to a wonderful school year and to being another source of support for our Timber Ridge students and families.

What's Poppin' in 4th Grade?

Fourth grade is learning some POWERFUL things! In Math, we’re mastering place value and adding and subtracting whole numbers. In ELA, students are exploring the writing process by creating personal narratives all about themselves. Science is really popping off as we investigate the properties of matter! And in Social Studies, we’re traveling across our wonderful state as we learn more about Texas!

4th Grade Brain Challenge!

I am a 7-digit number. My millions digit is 4. My hundred-thousands digit is 2 more than my millions digit. My ten-thousands digit is half of 8. All of my remaining digits are 0.

What number am I?

5th Grade - What We're Learning

Math: Students are learning about volume, area, and perimeter. They will use formulas and problem-solving skills to find measurements of different shapes and real-world objects.

Science: Students are exploring properties of mixtures, particles of matter, conservation of energy, and force and motion. They will investigate how matter and energy behave and how forces affect objects.

Social Studies: Students are learning about movement and settlement in the United States. They will also explore the geographic, political, and economic regions of the U.S. and how these regions have developed over time.

RLA – Journeys: Students are reading and analyzing informational texts and historical fiction. They will practice identifying text features, important details, text structure, author’s purpose, and evidence to better understand what they read.

Writing – Narrative: Students are learning how to write narrative stories with a clear beginning, middle, and end. They will practice developing characters, setting, plot, dialogue, descriptive details, and organized events to create engaging stories.
