VISION
MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Greetings Lindblom MSA Eagles,
As we conclude Assistant Principal and Dean’s Week, I want to publicly recognize these dedicated leaders who work tirelessly behind the scenes to cultivate a learning environment in which our students and staff are included, challenged, and supported. While their work often happens in the quiet moments of support and navigation, our campus would not be the engaging community it is today without their insight, diligence, and heart. Please join me in expressing appreciation for their unwavering leadership and the vital role they play in the success of our school community.
In that same spirit of commitment to building capacity and promoting student growth, we are entering the week for pre-ACT/ACT and IAR assessments. Our students have worked hard all year to learn new concepts and apply them. AP Meadows has shared personalized information with every junior, including their ACT student code and the instructions for setting up their MyACT account if they did not do so during advisory on April 8. Please remind all students to read their emails and follow the directions as soon as possible. The emails contain time-sensitive actions that they need to execute before the test.
Last but not least, YOU’VE GOT THIS!!! Prioritize getting enough sleep, healthy eating, and practicing proper pacing during the exam.
Test day requires you to arrive by 7:30 AM with your charged Chromebook and necessary supplies.
To protect your hard work and prevent accidental test dismissal, all electronic devices, such as phones, MetaGlasses, and smartwatches, must be turned off and collected.
Juniors must create a MyACT account using a personal email to access and send their official ACT scores.
View the exam as an opportunity to show off your brilliance and all of your hard work.
High School students are set to depart after testing. Parents, please make the necessary transportation arrangements for your student(s).
Together we rise onward and upward,
Principal Banks

Pride Parade
This Wednesday, 4/15 is LMSA's pride parade! When we celebrate and recognize all members of our community, we build a stronger learning community!
BE CHALLENGED
Lindblom Dance
Our Dance III/IV dancers had the honor and privilege to be challenged in a West African Master Class taught by Mama Sako, a Master Dance Teacher visiting from Mali. The dancers were challenged by sequencing and enriched in an experience that included live drumming! Lindblom Dance was very grateful to partner with Old Town School of Folk Music to make this immersive experience happen- Swoop Swoop!
Stay tuned for more information regarding our Spring into Dance Concert (Friday, May 1st @ 5pm) and LDE Auditions (Tuesday, May 12th & Wednesday, May 13th) in the coming weeks.
BE EMPOWERED
Alumni Spotlight
Last Wednesday, we hosted 20+ alumni (shoutout to our grads from the '70s all the way to 2019!) for an incredible Career Day. Our alumni panel was blown away by the "moves" graduates are making, specifically our massive growth in scholarship wins and high-level internships.
It was more than a career talk; it was a passing of the torch. Our students are inspired, our alumni are proud, and the future has never looked brighter.

Student Spotlight
We’re proud to announce that one of our students, 9th grader Ricardo Pluma, has been selected as a recipient of the NJHS Outstanding Achievement Award. This recognition highlights his commitment to scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
This academic year our Lindblom Band Program partnered with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's CSO Connect - Civic Mentors Program, co-hosted by the Negaunee Music Institute. Lindblom is one of seven CPS schools selected to participate in this prestigious program. The CSO Connect - Civic Mentors Program provides in-school mentorship with members of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's young professionals training orchestra. Each instrumental section in our Honors Symphonic Band worked with an expert of their instrument type several times between January and early April. The culminating event of this partnership was a day of rehearsals and a concert at Orchestra Hall at Chicago Symphony Center, where students from the participating CPS band programs joined together - along with their Civic mentors and a few members of the CSO - to perform in a combined concert performance. This is one of the greatest stages in the world and our students got to play there! Congratulations to our Honors Symphonic Band students!
We are thrilled to announce that four of our exceptional Web II students have been recognized as Midwest Regional Runners-Up in the 2026 Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt National High School Design Challenge.

Attendance Matters
REMINDERS: Students and families will receive detention notifications by email. Students will serve detention on Tuesday and/or Thursday from 3:15 - 4:15. If you have questions about attendance, feel free to email bdhayes2@cps.edu.
LMSA Breakfast Cart
We had an amazing first week launching the new breakfast cart! The student response was fantastic, and we even had several teachers stop by to share compliments on the new setup.
Our goal is to ensure every student and parent knows that accessing a healthy breakfast is now easier than ever. We want to encourage students to arrive with enough time to fuel up so they are ready for a successful day of learning.
I have attached some additional resources to help with outreach:
- Benefits of Breakfast Flyer: A quick guide on why starting the day with a meal matters.
- MealViewer: Direct access to Lindblom’s digital menus for easy planning.
