Message from GHS Administration Message from GHS Administration

We’ve made it to the last week of the school year! We are so thankful for the hard work and dedication that each of our students, teachers, and staff have put in all year long. As we look forward to the start to summer, we are thankful for another good year at Gainesville High School!

We have two final full days of school and final exams begin June 9. Please review important information below.

Apps to Update This Summer

As a reminder, several apps that many PWCS families rely on are getting important updates. The provider of the ParentVUE and StudentVUE apps has released new versions of these apps, and the current versions will no longer be supported after June 30. In addition, the EZ A2B bus tracking app is transitioning to EZArrival. To ensure continued access to grades, attendance, and transportation information—especially during summer school and the 2026–27 school year—families should take a moment to download the updated
ParentVUE app and StudentVUE app, and transition to the new EZArrival app

Lost and Found

The Gainesville High School lost and found has an impressive collection of sweatshirts, book bags and water bottles. If your student has lost any items, they can come by the main office to search the lost and found. Items not picked up by Friday, June 12 will be donated to a local organization.

Medication Pick Up

Parents/guardians of students that have medication at GVHS will need to pick up their students’ medication by June 12 at 10:30AM. Medications will be disposed of after this deadline.

PWCS Summer Meals

Free meals are available to PWCS students through the Summer Food Service Program. This includes to-go summer meals and in-person summer meals. Please visit the Summer Food Service Program site for full details including times, locations, and dates.

Senior Email Address

Seniors should be aware that their PWCS email address and access to Microsoft Office will be turned off after graduation. It is strongly recommended that students remove documents from their OneDrive that they want to keep and share in a new location ASAP. They should also update any accounts (e.g. College Board, college accounts, employment applications, etc.) with a new email address as soon as possible.

Immunizations for class of 2027

Rising seniors have required immunizations to start the 2026-2027 school year. If your family has received an email or text message about required immunizations, the deadline for families to submit documentation is August 21. Students who do not have the required immunizations will not be allowed to start school on August 24. If you have questions, please contact the GHS School Nurse at 571-248-3200.

SAT Registration for 2026-2027

Registration is now open for August-December 2026 weekend SAT. GVHS will host these SAT sessions each month. To register, please have your student sign up via their College Board account. More information can be found on the College Board SAT site. Students should prepare for the SAT through their Khan Academy account, accessible via PWCS Portal. This is an excellent and free SAT preparatory program.

Save the dates in 2026-2027! Students grades 9-11 will take the PSAT during school hours on October 14, 2026. All students in grade 11 will be given the opportunity to take the SAT during the school day on April 7, 2027.

Class of 2027 Summer Newsletter

Ms. Harris, GVHS College and Career Counselor, put together a summer newsletter for students in the class of 2027. The newsletter includes information on our summer application workshop (August 19), the FAFSA, planning for admissions, military option, trade school information, and much, more more. Please check it out!

Fall 2026 CCRV Classes

If your rising junior or senior requested to take a CCRV class through NOVA, it is important that they complete all steps in the NOVA CCRV application process. This process is through NOVA systems, not PWCS. Directions on how to apply can be found on the NOVA CCRV page. The application deadline for fall 2026 classes is July 1.

Moving This Summer?

If you are moving this summer out of GVHS’ boundaries, please complete the withdrawal packed in ParentVUE. This will enable us to send records to your student’s new school in a timely manner. Information on how to withdraw can be found on the PWCS Student Withdrawal Information page.
