Weekly Hoots
#SoaringTogether February 12th - 16th
From the Desk of Dr. Gantt
As we progress through the rest of this year, I would like to take this opportunity to reinforce the importance of effective communication between the school and our valued parents/guardians.
At Whitesville, we are committed to fostering an environment where collaboration between educators and families flourishes. We firmly believe that open and transparent communication is vital for the holistic development and success of our students.
To further strengthen our communication channels and ensure that you are well-informed about your child's progress, school events, and important announcements, we have implemented the following measures:
Weekly Hoots: Our school will continue to send out our newsletters to provide you with updates on school activities, achievements, and upcoming events. Please ensure that your contact information is up-to-date to receive these newsletters promptly.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: We encourage active participation in parent-teacher conferences as they offer a valuable opportunity to discuss your child's academic performance, strengths, and areas for improvement. These conferences can be scheduled at your convenience by contacting your child's teacher.
Digital Platforms: We utilize various digital platforms such as Facebook, the WES website, and Rooms to share important announcements, assignments, and resources. We encourage you to familiarize yourselves with these platforms to stay connected with your child's educational journey.
Feedback Mechanisms: Your feedback is invaluable to us. We have established channels for you to share your suggestions, concerns, and feedback regarding any aspect of our school's operations. Whether through surveys, suggestion boxes, or direct communication with school administration, we welcome your input.
We believe that by working together, we can provide the best possible support for your child's academic, social, and emotional growth. Your active involvement and participation are instrumental in creating a positive and enriching school experience for our students.
Should you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns regarding our communication channels or any other matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to assist you in any way we can.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership in your child's education.
We will be the best elementary school in the state!
Thank you!

The testing window for ACCESS for ELLs® or Alternate ACCESS began on January 22 and goes through March 8, 2024.

Kindness & Compassion
Character Word of the Month
Every month WES students will learn about a character word. This month, the word of the month is Kindness & Compassion.
Kindness & Compassion means being courteous, considerate, and helpful to others. The platinum rule: find out how others would like to be treated, and treat them accordingly. Our Wise Owls will learn what sympathy looks like and sounds like, and understand the importance of showing sympathy and concern for others.
Ask your child who has been kind to them. Ask your child who has been compassionate to them.
