Margaret C. Smith Community School

The Margaret Chase Smith Community School has had a wonderful start to the 2025-26 school year. We thank the staff who made the transition into the new school a positive experience. We appreciate our families patience as we implement and work to improve the arrival and dismissal process.

The playgrounds at school are available to use after 5:00pm Monday-Friday and on the weekends. Please enjoy playing and love them as much as we do and remove all trash.

Thank you for partnering with school to help your child develop academically and socially. We are lucky at MCSCS to have the best families to partner with. Thanks for all you do to ensure your child gets to school by 8:00 each and every day. Students can arrive at 7:30am to enjoy breakfast and at 7:40 K-2 and 3-5 are dismissed to the playground or gym depending on the day of the week. We make attendance a priority at school and want to support all children and families to ensure your child gets to school.

Walkers and Family pick-up will continue to be off the cafeteria door starting at 2:15. Please use the pick-up system and reserve picking up at the office for appointments. Starting at 1:30 the office is a busy place preparing for dismissal and we ask that you wait for your child at the planned 2:15 dismissal time.
