DMS Community Newsletter 25/26

Dear Defender Families,

Please note that there will be no school on Monday, February 16, in observance of Presidents’ Day.

We are entering Week 7 of the second semester, and learning continues to move forward. Please remind your students to use their planners and regularly check their Canvas courses so they can turn in assignments on time and be prepared for upcoming assessments.

DMS Wellness Month is moving into Week 3, and the DMS Olympics have officially concluded. Students participated in a variety of events and kept the competition close throughout!

DMS PE Olympics Winners:

3rd: Australia

We look forward to welcoming our Defenders back on campus on Tuesday.

February is Wellness Month at DMS! The Counseling Squad has collaborated with the PE Department & Leadership groups to provide all Defenders with opportunities to increase mental health awareness and general well-being through a variety of fun activities during Advisement & Lunch, plus grade level activities during PE. Please see flyer for details.

Students participated in a Medal Ceremony to announce the top three countries form the DMS Olympics. 1st place: Netherlands, 2nd place: Japan, 3rd place: Australia

Students participated in the Mile Run during Week 3 of the DMS Olympics.

Student participated in the High Jump during week 3 of the DMS Olympics.

Student participated in the Shotput during week 3 of the DMS Olympics.

Students went to CHS to visit the campus and learn about high school during Puma 101.

Students completed an activity to demonstrate the Lunar phases using Oreos.

7th Grade classes participated in "Boot Camp". They participated in an exercise circuit during PE.

Students preparing Valentine Boxes.

Students recreate the nervous system by creating clay models.

Students in 1st lunch participated in a dance party.

Students and staff participated in a push up challenge.
