Trail Blazer Bulletin Sept 16-20

Dear Trail Blazer Community
This week there will be lots of opportunities to support our Trail Blazers on and off the field, while our football athletes are off for their bye-week.
Congratulations to our Football team on Friday night's tremendous run against the Wolverines. While the scoreboard did not reflect what we hoped to see, we know that our young men played with heart.
Congratulations to the Band on giving us a tremendous halftime show.
As usual, I would like to thank our Trail Blazer parents for their unwavering support of our school and students.
Read through this week's bulletin for important updates.

FISD Takes All Threats Seriously
When students make a threat to a campus, even via social media, the District and campus move quickly to address them. Watch Frisco Police discuss why words matter.
Parents are encouraged to remind children that while they may be “joking” about having a weapon or threatening harm to a school campus, the punishment by law is, at minimum, a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $4,000 and up to a year in jail. The punishment can be as severe as a third-degree felony, punishable by up to $10,000 and two to 10 years in prison.
Frisco ISD supports the Frisco Police Department's full prosecution of any individual who threatens harm to our students, staff, and campuses.
Student Consequences for Being Under the Influence
Did you know that off-campus school events like football games at Toyota Stadium or the Ford Center at the Star are treated the same as school property for discipline? If your student arrives at a FISD event on campus or off campus in possession of a prohibited item (alcohol, vape, etc.) or under the influence, they are subject to school disciplinary processes.
Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code mandates the placement of a student at an alternative educational setting who is found selling, giving, delivering, possessing, using, being under the influence of, or committing a serious act or offense while under the influence of alcohol or THC, on or at a school-related activity.
Please strongly encourage your students to refrain from engaging in these illegal activities.

Changing your schedule now may impact your teachers, and your current class schedule. Not all changes will work with all schedules and may not be possible. Previous versions of your schedule will not be granted after a change has been made. We cannot undo changes. We are unable to predict in advance what your schedule will look like with the change. If you are going into an on-level class, the grade from the 1st 6 weeks does follow to the new class and will be a part of your Q1 average. Please note that not all courses have an on level or lower equivalent to change. If there is not an available option, the course will remain. Your student will take the PSAT/NMSQT on October 2nd using their own school-issued device. Students are strongly encouraged to opt-in to the District’s 1 for All Chromebook program to ensure device compatibility with online testing.
